Life At Work Awards 2017 sees more home-grown organisations with advanced work-life practices

Talent Corporation Malaysia Berhad (TalentCorp) has seen an increased number of organisations in Malaysia implementing work-life practices in their workplaces. A recent Life At Work Survey by TalentCorp and EY that surveyed over 360 employers from key sectors such as education, finance, healthcare, manufacturing, oil and gas, professional services, etc., revealed that 90 per cent of organisations in Malaysia agree on the importance of offering work-life practices for employees.

In efforts to highlight the importance and need for work-life practices and its positive impact on people development and contribution to Malaysia’s economic growth, TalentCorp continues to recognise employers who champion diversity and inclusion in the workplace and work-life integration practices with the Life At Work Awards 2017.

“There is a crucial need for organisations in Malaysia to look into their HR policies and quickly adapt to the demands of their employees for flexibility in the workplace. Productivity is at its highest when employees feel that they are motivated, and empowered. Results of the Life At Work Survey confirms this, with 80 per cent of employers surveyed agreeing that work-life practices contributed to improved productivity,” said Dato’ Sri Idris Jala, Member of TalentCorp’s Board of Trustees who presented the awards to the winners.

Life At Work Awards 2017 recognises employers who strive to provide innovative workplace policies that enable employees to maximise productivity and performance by obtaining a balance in both their corporate and personal lives. This year, over 30 companies submitted their entries and about one third of that number are homegrown Malaysian organisations.

The Life At Work Awards is part of TalentCorp’s ongoing initiatives of assisting corporates to prepare for the future of work. Over the past five years, 18 corporates in Malaysia have been recognised for their pioneering innovative policies and practices to better attract and retain talent.
