Almost 4 in 10 Singaporean employees want to retire at the age of 55, 10 years earlier than the retirement age set by the government, the 2014 Randstad Award survey revealed. Respondents said they would be motivated to work longer if their workplace offered a more relaxed schedule (48%), friendlier atmosphere (37%) and fewer work hours (34%). Randstad Country Director for Singapore Michael Smith said the findings provide organisations a clear insight on how best to engage their top talent and retain them, considering the ongoing talent shortage issue in the country.
