Our Purpose
Enhancing quality of life and contributing to a healthier future shape everything we do at Nestlé. Today, nutrition, quality, taste and a responsible way of working enable us to create long-term sustainable value for our consumers, for our communities and for our shareholders.
Our people are driven by the belief that the ideas they bring to life today could shape our collective future as we are all responsible for the lives we touch. Our employees know they are bringing “good food, good life” to Thai people, encouraging them to live healthier lives.
We are proud of our ongoing contribution to society. Employees are encouraged to take part in the company’s regular volunteering activities, such as beach cleaning on World Oceans Day, and renovating schools in rural areas, to make a difference in lives of individuals and families, communities and our planet.
Our Values
Our values are rooted in respect: Respect for ourselves, Respect for others, Respect for diversity and Respect for the future, we want to shape a better and healthier world. We’re continuing the legacy of our founder Henri Nestlé who created a life-saving infant cereal more than 150 years ago.
Diversity and Inclusion
In line with our Values, diversity and inclusion is an integral part of our company’s culture and is one of the ways we bring our purpose and values to life.
We aim to embed diversity and inclusion across everything we do, focusing on three core areas: culture, innovation and society. This involves building an inclusive culture that values the different talents and experiences of our employees, innovating to serve the needs of our diverse consumers and customers and engaging with society in the diverse markets where we operate.
In Thailand, our employees profile crosses four generations and more than 40% of our managers are female.
Our focus on Health and Wellbeing
Our policies and practices support and encourage the health and well-being of our employees. We have an enhanced Maternity and Paternity leave policy, as well as Flexible Working Arrangements across our company. We offer to our employees a comprehensive medical insurance, focusing as well on preventative measures. We encourage and support sports clubs across our sites, and provide healthy menus in our factories.
In 2020, we will launch the global program “Healthy Lives”, which gives our employees the opportunity to learn and apply simple principles to improve the quality of their life and well-being.
Our Commitment to Youth
As a major employer, we understand the role we play to help develop and support the young generation. Nestlé Needs YOUths is one of our global initiatives, which aims to help 10 million young people access economic opportunities by 2030. As the next generation is the future, we aim to help build the skills they need to succeed in life in accordance with our Value, Respect for the Future.
In Thailand, our program ranges from career advice to students, skill-based training programs developed in partnership with local communities and accelerated development programs for graduates in different fields.
Development and Career Growth
It’s all about the amazing talent we attract, develop and engage at Nestlé.
Helping our employees to develop their career is our key priority. Our long-term goal is to create a sustainable employee development journey which drives business outcomes through:
- A high-performance culture supported by differentiated rewards and development
- Quality and transparency of career discussions for employees
- A deeper, wider, learning and agile talent pool that is geographically, culturally and gender diverse
Our employees are encouraged to have regular career and development conversations not only with their line managers, but also with the more senior levels in the organization, in order to increase visibility and access to different ways of thinking. Our ongoing coaching and feedback programs are embedded in the ways of working at all levels of the organization. Vast learning opportunities that let people grow their functional and leadership skills are available to inspire our people to be at their best.
Our ability as a company to continuously evolve is key to remain competitive in the new reality. We are adopting new ways of working; developing differentiated skills to manage consumer and employee expectations; effectively managing diversity and looking towards the future. All of these changes have an impact on our managers & employees and our Nestlé Leadership Framework supports the future requirements of our business.
