YINSON HOLDINGS BERHAD
As one of the world’s largest Floating, Production, Offloading and Storage (FPSO) operators, Yinson is proud to play a part in shaping the world’s energy landscape. We are setting standards in the way offshore oil and gas production is managed through a modern fleet of purpose-built vessels, and are backed by a track record of operational excellence.
From a humble transport and logistics company in Johor Bahru, Yinson’s geographical presence now extends across the borders, from West Africa, to Europe and South East Asia. Our newest asset, the FPSO John Agyekum Kufuor, is expected to supply power to Ghana for at least the next 18 years, significantly alleviating the country’s energy crisis and boosting its economic growth.
At Yinson, we are passionate about meeting the world’s energy demands in a sustainable way. To achieve this, we believe in attracting great employees through the creation of a vibrant, progressive workplace that puts people first.
OUR ROAD TO GROWTH
Our core values are the essence of our identity and intended as a guide for all Yinsonians to make sound decisions. We truly believe that as a company, how far each employee embraces our core values directly correlates to the success we can achieve. Our core values are an acronym for the word ROADS: R for reliable, O for open, A for adaptable, D for decisive and S for sustainable. Yinson’s standing as a preferred employer is a testament to the successful ongoing integration of our core values across all areas of our business, and in every Yinsonian.
Our employees come from a diverse mix of nationalities including Malaysians, Singaporeans, Norwegians, Indians and Ghanaians.
CREATING A GREAT WORKPLACE
When you enter a Yinson office anywhere, you can be sure of one thing. You’ll be greeted with a smile. We believe that happy employees are productive employees and thus strive to do what we can to make our workplaces fun and fruitful.
Some ways include having modern offices equipped with the latest technologies and systems; funky and fun breakout areas for employees to unwind, have creative brainstorming sessions and enjoy each other’s company; competitive medical and insurance cover for employees and their families; staff activities and events such as team building, annual dinners and giveaways; building a culture where openness and a free flow of communication is encouraged; health initiatives such as badminton and cycling activities, health competitions and talks and free health checks and a flexible benefits plan that allows employees to prioritise the benefits that best suit them.
A PROGRESSIVE CAREER PATH
At Yinson, we place great importance on empowering personal development and opening new growth opportunities. We strive to create an environment where learning is celebrated and encouraged.
As a global player we create international career options in various fields, whether it’s crewing our vessels, working in our corporate advisory office, engineering, or operations. We have a 12-week internship programme available all year round and a management trainee programme that gives young graduates the opportunity to develop skills alongside trained professionals.
We also provide skills and personal development training for employees to help achieve their career goals and a robust appraisal system that facilitates a progressive career pathway towards achieving them.
CREATING SHARED VALUE
At Yinson, we are transforming the concept of Corporate Social Responsibility into Creating Shared Value (CSV). As a global company, we understand that we leave a legacy in every community that we operate in. Thus, every investment that we make into the community is designed to leave meaningful legacies that can be leveraged on for generations to come. Guided by our Sustainability Policy, our CSV initiatives centre around education, skills training and creating jobs.
We support a professional football training and guidance program called Future Stars. The program allows underprivileged children aged 9 to 11 to receive coaching and advice that gives them a boost towards their dreams of playing professional football.
Yinson has also built a 1,000 seater assembly hall in the Nkroful Agricultural Secondary School in Western Ghana. It serves the town village of Nkroful and its surrounds as an educational resource centre.
Additionally, Yinson has also rehabilitated 5 public schools in Ghana through our Future Stars Rehabilitation Project, through improving the landscape, infrastructure and sanitation. Yinson has also invested in the building of the Yinson Welding Training Centre in Takoradi. The centre provides new technical knowledge to its students, enabling them to learn valuable skills needed to enter the workforce.
