Malayan Banking Berhad (Maybank) will continue hiring employees despite the challenges posed by the global economic uncertainty. Maybank Group Chief Human Capital Officer Nora Abd Manaf said the bank would not resort to massive dismissals despite facing economic pressures, including rising costs.

She said Maybank would not stop recruiting employees but would exercise cautious, especially in choosing the right candidates and at the same time, not marginalising existing ones.

“Maybank always needs new employees and ideas to ensure that we will continue to be competitive and grow globally, including (seeking) new ways of dealing with today’s sophisticated ecosystem and technological development,” she told reporters after flagging off the Maybank GO Ahead Challenge (MGAC) 2017 Global Final here, today.

Nora said new employees not only could give new input, but could also help existing ones grow and develop.
