Kelly Outsourcing & Consulting Group (KellyOCG) celebrated the success of The Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) at a graduation ceremony recently – graced by TalentCorp Malaysia’s Chief Executive Officer, Johan Mahmood Merican – to recognize HR professionals who had completed SHRM certification courses and passed the examination.
As the world’s largest HR professional association’s No.1 international learning system partner, KellyOCG offers two internationally recognised credentials in HR certification namely SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP), SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) KellyOCG’s Vice President for Asia Pacific, Anthony Raja Devadoss said that within the local private sector, KellyOCG aims to double up the existing percentage of the estimated 30,000 HR practitioners in Malaysia to be certified with HR-specific international standards by end of 2016.
This latest graduation event saw 28 HR professionals being awarded the respective Globally Recognised HR Certifications. The HR professionals who received the SHRM certifications were from across industries including insurance, education, manufacturing, financial institutions, energy, information, communications and technology (ICT) shared services, HR consultancy and automotive.
Devadoss said, with the SHRM certification HR professionals will be best positioned to effectively manage a workforce from both small- and medium-sized enterprises (SME) and larger organizational perspective.
“Newly certified HR professionals bring to an organization updated knowledge, sharpened skills and new perspectives as well as have a positive influence on employees and colleagues. They can provide strategic counsel and practical support to employees and management to drive high- performing organizations.
The SHRM certifications are positioned to become the new standard for HR professionals worldwide, as it is among the first to focus on practical, real-life HR information, teaching and testing competencies and knowledge.” All SHRM certifications are claimable under Pembangunan Sumber Manusia Berhad’s (PSMB) Human Resource Development Fund (HRDF) subject to their approval, while HR professionals taking the certification are eligible for TalentCorp Incentive up to 50 percent. KellyOCG was recently named the SHRM’s 2014 Top International Learning System Partner.
The prestigious SHRM award was based on the largest pool of HR professional’s participation, outside of the US, in SHRM certification programmes organized by KellyOCG Malaysia. Over the last seven years, KellyOCG has seen a total of 167 HR professionals in Malaysia taking SHRM certification programmes. In 2014, 86 HR professionals in Malaysia attended the SHRM Certification Seminars.
