The Malaysia Career and Training Fair (MCTF), Malaysia’s premier event for job seekers and training providers, focuses on the key trends shaping the Malaysian job market landscape. The event took place from 18 to 19 February 2023 at Mid Valley, Kuala Lumpur.
The COVID-19 pandemic has disrupted Malaysia’s job market, resulting in job losses and business closures. As the market recovers and companies have begun hiring again as there has been an increase in the demand for jobs. This was evident as MCTF featured over 120 employers, more than double of the previous MCTF in 2022 and with more than 10,000 jobs available.
“As a result of the pandemic, Malaysia’s job market has seen significant shifts, with certain industries suffering greatly while others thrive. We understand the need for a platform that brings job seekers and employers together in one place, allowing for valuable connections to be made,” said Datuk William Ng, Managing Director of AIC Exhibitions, MCTF’s organiser.
MCTF in collaboration with leading online employment marketplace, JobStreet, provides a one-of-a-kind platform for job seekers and employers to connect. The two day event included seminar sessions, skill development workshops, and networking opportunities to engage and support job seekers.
Visitors were able to meet recruiters from various companies and learn about the various job opportunities available in growing industries like technology, healthcare, and logistics.
The 2023 MCTF was supported by HRD Corp Placement Center (HPC), Talent Corporation Malaysia, and Pertubuhan Keselamatan Sosial (PERKESO) and included sponsors such as Nestle Products Sdn. Bhd., Ambank (M) Berhad, United Overseas Bank (Malaysia) Bhd., CIMB Bank Berhad, Experian Marketing Services (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd., HSBC Bank Malaysia Bhd., Perodua Sales Sdn. Bhd., Alexandra Health Pte. Ltd., B. Braun Medical Industries Sdn. Bhd. and Coway (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd..
Others were Daikin Malaysia Sdn. Bhd., Mah Sing Properties Sdn Bhd., Malayan Bank Berhad, and MBSB Bank Berhad. With Cravee Foods and Like Me Coffee being the event sponsors.
MCTF was open to job seekers of all experience levels and free to attend. It was attended by over 30,000 of job seekers and provided a vital platform for employers to meet and connect with skilled talent in a changing job landscape. Visit https://careerfair.asia to learn more about the event.
