Alibaba and Huawei most popular among graduates in China
Move aside foreign multinationals, when it comes to choice of a workplace, China’s technology giants are where the local graduates want to be. According to a latest online survey, e-commerce powerhouse Alibaba Group Holding and Huawei Technologies have topped this year’s rankings of the most coveted employers for mainland China’s university students. About 80,000 students from 110 mainland universities participated in the annual online poll, which Sweden-based employer-branding company Universum has conducted in the country since 2006 to track the career aspirations of the domestic market’s future talent pool.

EPF Warns Members Of False Messages, Scams
The Employees Provident Fund (EPF) has issued a warning to members of false messages and scams which have been circulating via the social media, short messaging service (SMS) and WhatsApp application. EPF said, it had identified a false SMS message sent to members, claiming that their EPF accounts would be blocked within 24 hours, unless they contacted a given mobile phone number. “Official messages from the EPF will display a five-digit shortcode as sender identification (ID), and the messages will not be sent to members from a personal mobile number.” EPF said there were syndicates or agents that had been actively promoting their services via social media, offering assistance to members wishing to withdraw their EPF savings in return for a fee. “EPF does not appoint or endorse any third party to facilitate members’ application for withdrawals.

Australian unemployment drops to four-year low
Australia’s employment surged in May, led by a rebound in fulltime positions, sending the jobless rate to the lowest level in more than four years. Employment jumped 42,000 from April, when it climbed an upwardly revised 46,100. Jobless rate fell to 5.5 per cent, the lowest since Feb 2013. Fulltime jobs rose by 52,100; part-time employment fell 10,100. Participation rate increased to 64.9 per cent from 64.8 per cent.

Malaysia records highest number of Waze users in Asia
Malaysia has the highest number of WAZE users, with 2.5 million users in Kuala Lumpur, contributing nearly 1.2 million alerts such as accidents and potholes per month. Drivers also use the app to collectively drive more than 288 million kilometres per month. This year, Waze is releasing its travel statistics for key metros from 21 June 2016 to 25 June 2016.

Malaysia favourite among China luxury travellers
MALAYSIA is in the list of top seven island destinations of choice for summer holidays among luxury travellers from China, with Thailand (Phuket), Maldives, Fiji, Bali, Hawaii and Saipan (China) leading the list. According to a study conducted by Hurun Report Inc, a leading media group targeted at China and India’s high-net-worth individuals, survey respondents have been to their destinations of choice an average of six times, and they plan to return to their favourite locations twice in the next three years. The millennial’s are particularly fond of islands, which constitute all seven of their preferred destinations.
Top island destinations in Malaysia are Pulau Pangkor, Pulau Kapas, Pulau Tenggol, Sipadan, Pulau Mabul, Pulau Redang, Pulai Tioman, Pulau Perhentian and Pulau Langkawi.
