The Minister of Interior of Croatia, Davor Božinović, said that the country is relying more and more on foreign workers. Taking into account the labour shortages that Croatia is dealing with in several sectors across the country, the Minister further stressed that Croatia’s economy needs foreign workers, suggesting that the country plans to welcome more foreigners, Schengen.News reports.
Such a statement from Minister Božinović comes after foreign workers were subject to brutal attacks in Split. The Minister highly condemned the attack on foreign workers in Split, saying that the recent event is very shocking and disturbing. At the same time, the Minister pointed out that violence and discrimination against foreign workers must not be tolerated in any form. Minister Božinović further said that the Croatian community should be an example of a society where each individual, regardless of their origin, can live and work without fear for their safety.
