To achieve our aspirational goal and the growing business needs, PD faces one key challenge- “Fit for Growth”.  We need to address both the capacity and capabilities question on how to sustain the business double digit growth year on year.  In terms of capacity, our strategy is to attract & grow the young talents through a strong employer brand and continue to harness the experienced high potentials to mentor others.

Threats and Opportunities

On capabilities, it is necessary for us to identify and build the right leadership capabilities to minimize the most important gaps. This is done by establishing workplace policies on-site and other soft skills training such as Leadership Courses, Aviation Knowledge Courses for non-Aviation background employees and others such as English, MS Office, Presentation Skill, etc.

One of the matters for PD to address is talents retention. We believe that to retain an employee, we need to look at holistic approached, which includes rewards, recognition, career development, engagement and teamwork.

The current pandemic Covid-19 that the world is facing had made the above challenges more interesting.   In Vietjet, we work on our best to keep everybody’s job intact and at the same time keeping the business to weather through the current economy situation.

Vietjet also turns these Covid-19 challenges into opportunity. We provide and encourage staffs to take on online courses conducted by prestigious national and international universities.

Employee Engagement:

We strongly believe that social interaction plays a indispensable role in employee engaging and collaborating. Thanks to our young workforce who introduced our Workplace via Facebook ads to promote instant messaging and Newsfeed to transfer teamwork, activities, communications, and culture.  There is also a systematic teambuilding program specially designed for all employees to encourage teamwork across departments.

Talent Retention

We strive to enhance our Employer Branding in order to attract more talent, PD is working very closely with Commercial and Branding Department as we believe in the power of teamwork and leverage on each strength. Our Employer Branding has been paid a lot of effort to build strong partnership with local authority, vocational schools and universities for raising high awareness among the potential candidates. We are also working closely with “Nghe” our mascot in our promotion as “Nghe” is a lovely and well accepted mascot across the globe. Apart from Vietnam, we are also working with schools and other agencies overseas to enhance our Employer Branding such as Japan, Taiwan, Korea, Malaysia and Philippines.
