SEEK Asia – which combines two leading brands JobStreet and JobsDB under one roof – announced the appointment of Vic Sithasanan as JobStreet Malaysia’s new managing director.

In his new role, Vic will be responsible for leading and driving JobStreet Malaysia’s business growth and operations, while building on the company’s success and presence of more than two decades.

Vic is a seasoned senior executive with over 15 years of experience in leadership positions. He co-founded and sold two innovation led start-ups, successfully turned around two digital advertising agencies, and has had success scaling technology businesses across different markets and segments.

“Vic has a proven track record growing technology-driven businesses, leading digital business transformation programmes and empowering strong company cultures in diverse markets,” said SEEK Asia CEO Peter Bithos.

“I am very excited about what he will bring to our business as we innovate to the next level of growth,” he added. “His experience will greatly contribute to our aim of positioning JobStreet as the top digital destination for employees and companies to discover and grow talent and develop enriching careers in the next five years.”

Vic is taking over from Simran Kaur, who has been promoted as SEEK Asia’s Regional Business Transformation Director.

“All of us at SEEK Asia, JobStreet and JobsDB thank Simran for her leadership. She has been instrumental in strengthening the company as a market leader and a trusted brand for millions of jobseekers and organisations throughout Malaysia,” said Peter.

Simran, meanwhile, thanked the SEEK Asia leadership team for the support and belief in her capabilities.

“I am looking forward to the new role in business transformation with a key focus on driving agility and innovation across Seek Asia,” said Simran.

“The pandemic has accelerated changes to the business environment, resulting in shifts and realignment to processes, people and systems. As a customer-centric organisation, we are fully committed to empowering customers to ‘survive and thrive’ in this new environment.”

Commenting on his appointment, Vic expressed his delight in joining one of the largest and strongest tech companies in the region.

“The opportunity to work with SEEK’s teams and people across Asia to create step-change growth and an even better experience for our customers is incredibly exciting. Even as a digital business at the core, we’re investing so much to transform ourselves to be a leader not just today but for tomorrow,” said Vic.

“I feel fortunate to be joining at this very moment because our purpose is to improve lives through better careers. This has never been more urgent amidst the current social and economic environments brought about by the Covid-19 pandemic.”

In recent months, Jobstreet has launched many technological updates to its platform – for instance – a sophisticated search and discovery platform powered by Artificial Intelligence, that helps jobseekers find relevant jobs quickly. Jobstreet also remains the leader with the greatest number of job positions and candidates in the Malaysian market.
