Finland’s employment minister paid an official visit to the Philippines as part of a wider effort to strengthen economic ties between the two countries. Minister Arto Satonen and his delegation are in the country until January 18 to “explore avenues for deeper cooperation” and present career opportunities for skilled Filipinos, Business Finland announced.

“We are committed to supporting employers and experts to ensure they have favourable conditions for successful recruitment. Upholding ethical standards and smooth recruitment processes remain our top priorities,” Satonen said.

Finland is a top destination for highly skilled workers

With a high quality of life and a multitude of work opportunities available, Finland is fast becoming a top destination for international talent. Finnish employers are tapping into a global talent pool to address the growing demand for skilled workers, particularly in technology, industry and health care, and the Philippines is among their source countries of choice.

Helsinki Mayor Juhana Vartiainen accompanied Minister Satonen, along with a contingent of leaders in business, education, and labour.

“As a city, we welcome newcomers and offer a comprehensive range of information and public services to assist with settling into a new country,” Vartiainen said.

“The city of Helsinki is a large employer in Finland, and we actively seek talented workforce from abroad, particularly in our healthcare sector. With our ethical recruitment principles, we ensure a transparent and fair recruitment process. Helsinki provides exciting opportunities for all and fosters an excellent work-life balance.” – People Matters
