Japan’s Mynavi Corporation, a leading human resources services and information media company, has recently acquired Gurugram-based People Matters, a fast-growing media platform and community for human resources and talent leaders in India and APAC, as a subsidiary.
This is the first time Tokyo-headquartered Mynavi has acquired an Indian company as a subsidiary. With the acquisition, Mynavi aims to leverage the global insights, brand power, and network of People Matters in the HR field and further expand Mynavi’s business in India and Asia. In addition, the company said it will contribute to solving India’s social issues through its business.
People Matters provides information on the latest trends, ideas, and knowledge related to HR in its own media products. Founded 12 years ago, People Matters has become the knowledge community of choice for leaders and CXOs to help prioritize talent at the center of their organizational strategy.
The company is also known for hosting People Matters TechHR, Asia’s largest HR Tech conferences, in India and Singapore. It has established a dominant position in India by helping all professionals in HR, including executives and HR personnel, to find solutions to their challenges. Established in 1973, the $2 billion Mynavi Corporation is one of the largest HR companies in Japan with offices in Japan, USA, South Korea, Taiwan, Vietnam, Philippines, Indonesia, Poland, and India.
According to Mynavi in a press release, India was chosen as a country experiencing population and economic growth, a country producing IT talent, and a hub for startups, has attracted investment from around the world and has become a central presence in the Asian and global economies. At the same time, it is a country where there are significant disparities and social issues.
