One of the key challenges Publicis Groupe China faced when implementing DEI policies is resistance to change. Another challenge was the lack of awareness and understanding of DEI issues among employees. In Jan 2023, Publicis Groupe globally launched #WorkingWithCancer Campaign, the first cross-industry coalition to erase the stigma of cancer in the workplace, supported by leading cancer charities and organisations. Today, the program is an alliance of major international companies, with over 600 pledging businesses impacting up to 20 million employees, united by the aim to create an open, supportive and recovery-forward culture for cancer sufferers.

As an example, 51% of Publicis Groupe China’s senior management team are female, which makes us pay more attention to the career development of female employees. We have run our own Women to Watch program for 2 years, encouraging our talented female employees to roar out and show off their best practice. 20 female lions have been recognized and 7 of them also won Campaign’s Women to Watch Greater China 2021-2022.
