We also help people to check their credit report and credit score and protect against identity theft. From our inception in 2008, Experian Malaysia has grown to employ more than 700 people and is one of four Global Delivery Centres that provide a safe, secure environment where we develop and deliver solutions that make a real difference to both consumers and clients.

At Experian Malaysia, how we work is as important as what we do; we treat everyone fairly and we always work with integrity. As we expand our Experian family, a strong partnership between Human Resources (HR) and Business Leaders is well-established to ensure we hire the right talent. A comprehensive 12-month on-boarding plan, leveraging on digitalised processes while maintaining a personalised human touch, is in place for all new joiners. We make every effort to delight our new joiners by ensuring that they have an awesome on-boarding experience which celebrates micro moments as well as significant milestones.

People are our most valuable asset and biggest differentiator. We always find ways to make our work environment inspiring and encourage people to build meaningful relationships with each other, and with our customers. In recent years, both global and regional programmes have been developed to constantly improve our leadership capabilities and ensure exposure for identified talent across our region. We created a People Managers’ Community to leverage best practices, network and exchange thought leadership. We also enhanced our online learning platforms and introduced an improved Rewards & Benefits programme recently focusing on our people’s well-being. This year, we have a new flexi-benefits scheme which allows our people to spend on fitness, entertainment, food & beverage or daily essentials.

A range of social and festive celebrations offer people a chance to unwind and get to know their colleagues in a more relaxed environment. We also organise Sports Club activities and have access to various games in our Social Hub – all of which help us create an environment that helps inspire and unite our people. To remain competitive, Experian Malaysia has a Rewards Committee which regularly benchmarks our Employee Package.

Experian always encourages people to recognise those who have gone the extra mile to ensure that colleagues, consumers and clients are at the centre of our plans. We have a structured recognition programme which carries a substantial monetary reward for notable achievements at a local, regional and global level, and these are called out frequently. The Leadership Team plays an important role in encouraging nominations and to remind people of the significance of thanking individuals. Regional winners of these recognition programmes are selected every six months, and once a year, they compete in a global competition to win an elite holiday of a lifetime!

Senior leaders at Experian are joining forces to make the company more successful by advocating the Diversity and Inclusion agenda at every global leadership meeting. Experian Malaysia embarked on this journey and took part in an initiative called ‘Women in Experian’, which was the first step in driving a more inclusive culture. It aims to create greater gender diversity and eliminate the barriers (both organisationally and personally), that prevent women from reaching their potential. Over the years, we have seen this programme bloom and become very successful. Our women leaders from Experian Malaysia have been given opportunities with short term assignments across multiple locations, and a few of them have been put on a fast track to senior leadership. Fast forward to today, we now have a Superheroes League which celebrates our rich cultural diversity, going beyond just gender diversity. Together, it is our appreciation for our unique differences which makes us stronger and better.
