Hang Lung Properties Limited (stock code: 00101), a constituent stock of the Hang Seng Index and Hang Seng Corporate Sustainability Indices in Hong Kong, and the Dow Jones Sustainability Asia Pacific Index since 2017, is a leading real estate developer operating in Hong Kong and mainland China. Hang Lung encourages staff To Learn • To Grow by operating innovative and diverse development programs to unleash their potential, such as Development Programs for Executives, Management Trainee Program, Career Programs for Operational Staff. Along with the support of the e-learning platform “eAcademy66”, Hang Lung successfully cultivated a culture of self-learning despite geographical or time constraints.

STAFF WELL-BEING
Hang Lung is dedicated to fostering an environment that can help staff achieve a healthy work–life balance. Besides the basic benefits such as annual leave, maternity leave and medical benefits, Hang Lung has initiated programs that bring colleagues together for fun.

Launched in 2011, the Hang Lung Social Club offers a diverse range of activities, from Annual Dinner and LOHAS (‘Lifestyle of Health and Sustainability’) Day, to tea tasting and hiking for staff members and their friends and relatives. Sports teams, such as the Dragon Boat, Football and Runners teams have been set up for employees to explore their sporting potential. With over 1,000 members in both Hong Kong and the Mainland, the “Hang Lung As One” volunteer teams have organized over 100 voluntary activities with over 13,000 service hours in 2018.

A hotline for professional counselling has also been set up to ensure that all staff and their families can seek support if needed. While in-house health booths and regular health seminars help to promote a healthy working environment, as a family-family employer, Hang Lung has created a breastfeeding-support workplace where facilities are provided in all our offices for the convenience and safety of new mothers and their nursing babies.

MUTUAL COMMUNICATIONS
Hang Lung has long been an advocate of two-way and transparent communication. The Staff Communication Project provides variety of communication platforms for senior management to engage with employees of all level. Staff briefing sessions are arranged at our headquarters and regional offices twice a year for senior management to announce the Company’s biannual results and discuss future prospects of the Company, whilst allowing employees to provide feedback.

Apart from face-to-face communication sessions, Hang Lung has also established platforms to keep staff fully abreast of the Company’s latest news and developments. These platforms include the intranet and the monthly publication Connections, as well as other social media platforms such as Facebook, LinkedIn, WeChat, YouTube and Youku, etc.

In 2019, Hang Lung will be launching its first corporate-wide Employee Attitude Survey to solicit staff’s opinions on a variety of issues pertaining to the Company for both continuous improvement and sustainable development.

STAFF RECOGNITION
Recognizing the performance of staff is one of the most important means to boost staff morale and enhance work efficiency and the quality of the team. Hang Lung launched the Emerald Award in 2014 to recognize frontline staff who have embodied the spirit of “Going the Extra Mile” in providing customer experience par excellence.

In recognition of the faithful service of long-serving staff, Hang Lung has been granting Long Service Award to staff who have worked with Hang Lung for 10 years or longer. A total of 78 and 83 staff who had been with Hang Lung for over 10 years received the awards in 2017 and 2018 respectively.
