Reinforcing our commitment to becoming ‘the most sustainable commercial bank in Thailand,’ Krungsri has implemented numerous initiatives across environmental, social, and governance dimensions to foster sustainability.
In the environmental sector, we are paving the way for climate finance to support Thailand's green transition. Collaborating with a marine government agency and the 36-member Thailand Mangrove Alliance, Krungsri nurtures sustainable mangrove forests. We also addressed climate transition risks and opportunities at Moody’s ASEAN Series. A key milestone in 2023 was the launch of the ‘Krungsri Race to Net Zero’ initiative, aligned with our Carbon Neutrality Vision, aiming to decarbonize our operations by 2030.
At Krungsri, our commitment to sustainability is deeply embedded in every aspect of our operations. We initiate change through small, everyday actions for employees, such as energy-saving campaigns, the promotion of reusing plastic and paper bags. Additionally, we have integrated electric vehicles into our company fleet. Through our flagship initiatives like the 'Krungsri Race to Net Zero,' partnerships for sustainable finance, and the Krungsri ESG Academy, we create a workplace that promotes environmental, social, and governance excellence. These awards recognize our efforts to lead with purpose, ensuring a positive impact on our employees, communities, and the planet.
On the social front, Krungsri advocates for sustainable finance for micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) through the IFC Forum and champions gender equality and economic inclusion at the UN’s Feminist Finance Forum. Additionally, we support women entrepreneurs in advancing a green and caring society at the UN Women Forum. In our internal efforts, we hosted the Krungsri ESG Awards for the second consecutive year and launched the Krungsri ESG Academy to further embed sustainability within our organization.
From a governance perspective, we emphasize risk management rigor and showcase ASEAN opportunities to the investment community. We have integrated governance, risk, and compliance to enhance sustainability efforts across our operations. In 2023, we contributed to developing Thailand’s Industry Handbook for financial institutions, helping establish a national standard for incorporating environmental and climate change aspects in banking operations.

By the end of 2023, our Social and Sustainable Finance (SSF) portfolio grew by 71 billion baht since 2021, more than halfway to surpassing our target of 100 billion baht by 2030. We have gained several accolades for these efforts, including the Top Winner for social and sustainability accolades at the Asian Excellence Award 2024 and the Platinum Award for four consecutive years at The Asset ESG Corporate Awards.
Krungsri also continues to lead in ESG-linked businesses as part of our Mid-Term Business Plan (MTBP) for 2024-2026. Through sustainable growth, productivity, and corporate transformation, we are creating value for our business, customers, employees, and shareholders, while contributing to the betterment of the community and the environment.
