Cargill helps the world’s food system work for you. We connect farmers with markets, customers with ingredients and families with daily essentials—from the foods they eat to the floors they walk on. Our 160,000 team members around the world innovate with purpose, empowering our partners and communities as we work to nourish the world in a safe, responsible, sustainable way.

From feed that reduces methane emissions to waste-based renewable fuels, the possibilities are boundless. But our values remain the same. We put people first. We reach higher. We do the right thing. It’s how we’ve met the needs of the people we call neighbors and the planet we call home for 157 years—and how we’ll do so for generations to come.

To meet our purpose of nourishing the world, the work begins with our people. Be it putting our people first, investing and nurturing our employees, or building a workforce that comprises of and embraces a wide range of experiences, ideas, and talents – we believe that the best companies are only as good as the people who work in them and the culture that it perpetuates.

ENGAGING INITIATIVES

We know that to truly make an impact, a whole range of voices, perspectives, and learnings are necessary. Regular engagement allows for us to gain valuable feedback on how we can look after our people and helps in creating programs that would best support their growth and well-being in Cargill. To ensure that our employees have access to wellbeing resources and the necessary financial support for times of hardship, initiatives such as the Employee Assistance Program or employee disaster relief funds are available to all our affected employees.

We are also aware that the future of work is changing and through our conversations with our people, we are embracing flexibility at the workplace with hybrid arrangements, to provide them with the option of choosing between the types of work arrangements that would suit their needs, including being able to work fully remotely in our Singapore corporate office. Each employee is provided with financial support to help set up their home office and the additional costs incurred from working from home to ensure that regardless of where our employees are working, their productivity optimization will not be compromised due to the lack of or poor infrastructure support.

In 2023, we have launched the #LetMeCoverYou campaign to allow our employees to take charge of their well-being from the perspective of leave management by bringing up the awareness of having proper coverage plans and arrangements in place so employees can go on vacation without having to worry about work.

We also have changed our Employee Assistance Payment (EAP) vendor to better meet the changing needs of our employees in order to support them from a mental well being angle.

EMBRACING DIVERSITY & INCLUSION

DE&I has long been identified as an integral part of Cargill’s business and a big part who we are as an organization. It is a key enabler in our strategy to accelerate growth and become a customer-driven organization. This drives us towards increasing diverse talents throughout the entire company, and more particularly at our leadership, commercial and value chain positions.

To make global strides with a local focus, we have founded Singapore chapters for various business resource groups, such as the Cargill Women’s Network and the Cargill Young Professionals Network, to provide support for each other and our communities through focused health talks, community engagements, development sessions, forum participations, and fundraisers, etc. The creative, local initiatives reflect unique opportunities within the company to embody our spirit of diversity and inclusion.

At Cargill, putting our people first is a key priority. It is our commitment to our people, and we will continually seek improvement and work at creating an environment for us all to thrive together.
