During the year of 2022, Manulife employees sent over 18,400 recognition messages, with 100% participation from our leaders. Throughout 24 years in Vietnam, Manulife has consistently demonstrated a commitment to the community in a sustainable way, with a wide range of contributions:Building sustainable & healthier community:
- Strengthened our commitment for a better future of Vietnam with Saigon Children's Charity, donating computer equipment worth of VND 240 million to an elementary school in the Mekong region, providing inclusive educational opportunities to 700 students each year.
- Collaborated with HopeBox, for International Women's Day to help raise awareness around gender equality and the scourge of gender-based violence. We distributed nearly 1,000 gift boxes among Manulife Vietnam employees, handmade by courageous women who overcame gender-based violence themselves, before starting their new lives with the support of HopeBox.
- Donated over VND 107 million in cash and gifts to the Angels Orphanage in Ho Chi Minh City as a part of Manulife Acts of Kindness program. Sponsored and provided a playground to runner community though Manulife Danang International Marathon since 2016, to promote a healthy and active lifestyle.
Accelerating a sustainable future:
- Launched the email campaign “Every Email, A Single Forest”, in which Manulife Vietnam committed to donating a tree to Ben En National Forest, Thanh Hoa province, with every email registered or updated.
- Partnered with a local environmental NGO, Gaia Nature Conservation, Manulife Vietnam have already contributed to the planting of 9,200 trees covering 9.8 hectares in 2022 as part of our growing network of 'Customer Forests'.
- Aimed to contribute 4,000 tree plantings in Xuan Lien Nature Reserve, Thanh Hoa province through public physical challenges on ManulifeMOVE app, as part of “Partnering to Keep Your Healthy Life Pace” in 2023.
