GoTyme Bank, which leverages the well-established digital banking system of Tyme Group and the trusted brands and retail ecosystem of the Gokongwei Group, started commercial operations in October 2022. It aims to unlock the financial potential of all Filipinos through its unique, innovative business model called “phygital”– the first of its kind in the country. Phygital means enabling digitally but connecting physically; committing to human interaction in all aspects of customer service; and empowering customers by accompanying them on the journey of what they enjoy doing day-to-day. From the start of its commercial operations in October 2022, the bank reached 1 million customers in August 2023. It ended 2023 with 2.1 million customers. The total deposit balance by end-2022 was P274 million and it increased to P10.8 billion by end-2024. It now has 4 million customers with total deposit balance of over P17 billion.
The phygital model or human banking enables GoTyme Bank to offer preferred banking to all Filipinos. It makes the customer feel cared for just like a traditional bank’s preferred client. More important, the bank gathers customer insights that drive the bank’s product and service design and implementation. That translates to beautiful products and services including: easy and fast onboarding through a user-friendly app or a kiosk in a supermarket; fast free debit card printing at a kiosk manned by a human bank ambassador; free or low-cost money transfer; high-yield savings account with no mission and no minimum balance; most rewarding debit card that offers up to 3X Go Rewards points; quick human, not a bot, customer service; MSME flexible loan or merchant cash advance; and USD time deposit. Emerging products and services include: salary-enabled loans in collaboration with SAVii (the largest fintech salary lender in the country); mobile check deposit; account opening using international SIM; and investment products like cryptocurrency and stock investments.
GoTyme Bank has employed a diverse mix of employees who play a crucial role in creating value for millions of unbanked and underbanked Filipinos. By end-July 2024, GoTyme has 288 employees.
