Sandoz entered the Vietnam market in late 1990s together with Ciba-Geigy, Novartis Pharma, and other partners when Novartis set up its representative office in the country. Until May 2013, Sandoz representative offices were set up separately in Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi to promote and support the medicine supply, and delivery of drugs to patients before joining Novartis Pharma in early 2020 to set up Novartis Vietnam Co. Ltd., the first multinational pharmaceutical company that successfully transformed into a foreign-invested enterprise and fully operationalize its import activities.

As a global leader in high-quality generics and biosimilars, our commitment in Vietnam to increase access to medicines is the basis of our day-to-day business model. Sandoz offers a broad portfolio covering major therapeutic areas such as antibiotics, oncology, cardiovascular, respiratory, osteoporosis and others, resulting in substantial savings and improved access to domestic healthcare. Sandoz is in the process of a proposed 100% spin-off from Novartis, planned to occur on or around October 4, 2023. Sandoz Vietnam will become a standalone company locally with a proposed timeline from Q2 2024.
