Established in 2012 when e-Commerce was virtually non-existent in Southeast Asia, Lazada Vietnam inherits Lazada Group's journey has been heavily intertwined with the development of Vietnam’s digital commerce industry. As we celebrate our 10th anniversary this year, we look back at key achievements and how these shaped the region’s eCommerce revolution.

Today, a thriving local ecosystem links our consumers to more than 1 million actively-selling sellers every month, who are transacting safely and securely via trusted payment channels, receiving parcels through a homegrown logistics network that has become the largest in the region. Building on its successes and achievements over the past decade, Lazada has set its vision to serve more than 300 million consumers and hit a GMV target of $100 billion per year, and be the best at enabling brands and sellers in digitalizing their businesses. In 2022, we established the employer branding foundation to attract, nurture right talents for the ecommerce workforce. Regarding the source of hires, promote LazPrentice recruitment program as a pipeline for junior positions, by the way, a highly professional team was built that can proactive source for senior positions that could be hired in near future. We also revamped LazRefer (Employee referral program) to call for more referral candidates from internal employees as we believe that the best fit profile will come from internal recommendations.

Lazada embeds our values in daily life and performance management, and treat performance review as an Annual Big Show to differentiate high performing team. ACE AWARD is a good idea to award employees, this award aims to recognize & motivate functional teams and employees who had a good performance or achievement in the quarter. On the other hand, our leaders are inspired by the adoption of “Good to Great” & “OKR” for longer-term performance At Lazada, maintaining a healthy work-life balance is one of the most important roles for us, and the key to inspiring and fostering innovation is happiness at work which comes from one of Lazada's core values, "Live Seriously, Work Happily". So, we officially applied Pause Wednesday morning – where we encourage employees NOT to set any meeting or Ding anyone, and Happy Friyayyy as a part of an effective employee wellbeing program. Additionally, Lazada announced its Flexible Work Arrangement Program for eligible employees, where Lazadians can work remotely up to two days per week.


During the covid-19 pandemic, our already-existing financial, medical and mental health benefits were well designed to help employees through this crisis. We were quick to provide financial support, extended insurance benefits and volunteer teams for positive cases, hardship allowances for onsite employees, internet allowances, care kits for all Lazadians. Moreover, we had early adoption for vaccines, especially for frontliners (logistics) to ensure business operations following government regulations, ensure 95% Lazadians with 2 doses+. Focus on mental health, we provided virtual Series: LazQuiz, LazSport & LazMusik, Covid talk related with external experts. As a result, we proudly have become the pioneer in eCommerce in Vietnam during this 4th wave of Covid-19 through the “3-Easy model” – Easy to buy, Easy to sell & Easy to deliver. With all the effort above, Lazada Vietnam has achieved eNPS (Employees Net Promoter) score highest than ever and ranked at no.1 across Lazada Group in 2021. At Lazada, we are setting new standards for eCommerce, we are doing this by bringing out the best in our people. Apart from these, Lazada also implements wellness checks for the team with online mental health and resilience talks, counseling, or employees can join yoga sessions, badminton, football. We make digital and onsite engagement activities, foods supplement daily and during our mega campaigns, and bring new experiences ever with virtual Year End Party or teambuilding to uplift the morale of our employees in pressure times. We also build up automation and process simplification People Care system such as MyLazada dashboard, MyHR, LazRita, HR/Legal/IT ticket that makes our employee experience better and an enhanced employee experience took a more holistic approach.
