At De Heus Animal Nutrition, we contribute to the availability and accessibility of safe and healthy food in a sustainable manner. We are a fully fledged nutritional supplier producing compound feed, premixes and feed specialties. Through our products, knowledge and experience, we help livestock and fish farmers, integrations and dealers worldwide. Being family owned, we are entrepreneurs. We actively seek opportunities to create value and impact in the animal protein production chain.
De Heus is now operating 17 animal feed & 1 premix factories in key provinces in Vietnam, recently opened their first feed mill in Cambodia; 2 Slaughtering Houses for Pigs and Poultry; 3 Pig Genetics Farms for GPs, GGPs; 2 research & development centers and modern laboratory systems located at the Company's factories.
Since 2015, Vietnam officially became the headquarters of the Asia region, which has enhanced De Heus's confidence in developing its activities in the region. Besides Vietnam, De Heus also successfully operated in Myanmar, Cambodia, Indonesia, and India. "De Heus Animal Nutrition is led by the fourth generation of the De Heus family. Co and Koen de Heus both have the role of CEO and lead the company together.

We also organise global development programmes such as our Feed Academy and De Heus Business School, where employees have ample opportunities to learn, grow and collaborate with their peers across the world. We achieve this with involved and entrepreneurial employees, who continue to develop themselves. In 2021, De Heus conducted its first global employee survey, involving De Heus global head office and 18 business units/countries. “This extensive scope allowed us to identify where things are going well and indicated where there’s room for improvement, down to team level in every country.” All employees within De Heus were asked to fill in a questionnaire related to commitment, engagement, satisfaction, employership, customer focus, leadership & efficiency. “From factory workers, farm specialists and feed formulators to purchasers, finance managers and senior directors.” This global approach delivered employee feedback from all levels within the company and valuable information for global management, but even more so for the business units and teams.

Despite the COVID-19 restrictions, we were able to roll out Responsible Feeding in most of De Heus’ business units during online workshops in that same year. This received an enthusiastic response and was answered with a drive to define the meaning of sustainability within our company in a global context. De Heus business units pressed for global ambitions to shape the direction in which the company is moving.
