CARGILL VIETNAM
We established our presence in Vietnam with the opening of our first representative offices in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City in February 1995. In October of the same year, Cargill Vietnam Limited was formed. In December 2009, we were the first U.S. company to obtain a distribution license in Vietnam, allowing us to distribute products directly in the country. We now employ around 1,400 employees working across ~20 locations nation-wide. Our operations include animal nutrition & health, food and beverage ingredients, agriculture supply chain, metals trading, unique macro ingredients and animal protein."

Our businesses and employees are actively engaged in giving back to the local communities where we live, work, and do business.To date, Cargill’s contribution to the country has grown to encompass the following:
- Improving the livelihoods of animal farmers: Since 1997, we have been conducting training workshops for farmers to transfer best practices in animal health and nutrition. Our goal is to help improve animal productivity and health, ultimately raising farmer income. To date, the program has benefited over 1.7 million farmers.
- Changing lives through education: Under the umbrella of Cargill Cares, an employee-led volunteering initiative, we have raised more than $5.5 million US Dollars and built 112 schools in 53 provinces in Vietnam benefitting around 17,000 children annually. A typical Cargill Cares school consists of four or five classrooms, a schoolyard, a fence, and restroom facilities, serving 120 to 150 students. Our ambition is to build 150 schools in Vietnam by 2030.

ENGAGING INITIATIVES
We know that to truly make an impact, a whole range of voices, perspectives, and learnings are necessary. Regular engagement allows for us to gain valuable feedback on how we can look after our people and helps in creating programs that would best support their growth and well-being in Cargill.To ensure that our employees have access to wellbeing resources and the necessary financial support for times of hardship, initiatives such as the Employee Assistance Program or employee disaster relief funds are available to all our affected employees.
As a company that is well-established in Vietnam, we are proud that our employees feel engaged in our business and that they choose to be part of our team here in Cargill Vietnam. Thus we are living out Cargill’s value of Putting People First every day. Building on this foundation, Cargill Vietnam also brought to life various initiatives to help improve our people’s capabilities, health and wellness, including: Commercial Fresher Program (CAN), monthly Mental Health newsletter, quarterly Health Talks, virtual run and cycling challenges co-organized by HR and Cargill Women’s Network (SIMBA), etc.
