Employees’ Physical and Mental Health

Avnet’s leadership team upholds the spirit of putting “People First”, and creating a healthy workplace. Every year, we organize health management programs, such as medical check-ups. For employees with abnormal health test results or potential health concerns, we provide further support with personalized follow-up by extending one-on-one consultations. To make employees feel safe and secure at work, we provide group insurance with compensation higher than market standard. We also consider employees' family members as part of Avnet by offering company-funded dependent health insurance starting from 2022 to enhance their life protection.

Our Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) team conducts workplace safety assessments and provide related training courses for occupational safety on a regular basis. In addition to regular doctor consultations, there are one-on-one physical therapy sessions, and pain management workshops for all employees. We take a proactive approach in preventing the spread of the flu, and making sure all employees have access to free vaccination on-site.
Avnet’s unique Employee Assistance Program (EAP) is a global resource that offers counseling services to assist employees and their families in managing stress and problems. Additionally, we have implemented the Thrive@Avnet program which are employee’s resources to living well. Thrive activities are related to mind & body, connection, money, and career. Promoted activities such as Mindfulness tips, Zentangle classes, Happy Hour Photo contests, Healthy Meal Sharing, dart games, Switch sports have increased employees’ satisfaction at work. We also published an employee-centric book titled "Total Wellness: Body & Mind" in 2022.This resource provides guidance on how to prioritize overall health through regular exercise, healthy eating, and cultivating good mental health. Avnet is committed to fostering healthy bodies and minds of all employees through the company's supporting network and team synergy.

Workplace Upgrades

At Avnet, we recognize that employees’ health is integral to the long-term development of the company. Depending on the nature of their work, employees may be exposed to unsafe working conditions or suffer physical or psychological harm due to prolonged poor habits. Therefore, we invest in creating a comfortable, safe, and humanistic working environment.

We review, evaluate and upgrade office equipment periodically. In 2022, we leased new office spaces with spacious open areas and coffee break areas which are 80 square meters in total, and replaced all office chairs to more ergonomic ones, and guided employees on how to adjust their seating positions for maximum comfort. We purchased advanced communication devices for remote meetings to make it more convenient for employees. We also added Inbody body composition analyzers and Omron body fat meters in the office, and hired a medically-trained personnel to advise employees on how to monitor their health. with the advice of a medically-trained personnel.

People Development

At Avnet, we encourage continuous learning and development to support employees’ growth and overall advancement. We provide diverse tools and resources for learning and development to cultivate employees' business acumen, English proficiency, and leadership skills. We launch diversified learning methods to meet the learning needs of a diverse workforce, including hybrid learning approach that combines classroom experiences with eLearning course delivery. We also enhance the learning culture with company-wide activities, and launched our inaugural LearnFest campaign in April 2023. It was a week-long learning culture celebration, which was implemented globally. LearnFest has helped to deepen the understanding of development resources at Avnet. We also organized “Speak Your Power” contest to encourage employees to own the stage and share their beliefs and life stories. This contest has created a positive organizational climate.

We developed a performance management cycle, a personal and professional development plan and performance summary. We have imported Hogan assessments to help employees identify characteristics and provided one-on-one consultations to help employees understand their personal development status and focus on ways to better themselves. In 2022, we have implemented the MentorConnect system. This program advocates that "Anyone can be a mentor." We encourage employees to learn from mentors and seek advice from mentors for skill and professional development. Avnet promotes horizontal learning and is dedicated to nurturing

Employee Welfare

Avnet provides gifts or subsidies for events that employees encounter in their personal lives, such as weddings, funerals, education, travel, and important holidays. Starting in 2023, we increase birthday leave from half day to one day. The pandemic has proven that remote work and flexible working arrangements have brought numerous benefits to employees and the company. Starting in 2023, we increase telecommuting from one day per week to two days, While employees return to the workplace, we continue to promote flexible working hours, allowing employees greater flexibility over their work and lives.

Avnet hopes that employees do not give up their personal interests and hobbies while taking care of work and family, and we strive to create a flexible, caring, and fun working environment. We have a total of 31 employee-run clubs, ranging from camping clubs to ZUMBA clubs. Everyone can find a group that interests them to enrich their life experiences.

設備提升

在Avnet,我們深知員工的健康對於公司的長遠發展至關重要,員工基於不同的工作性質,可能暴露在不安全的工作環境或者因為長期的不良習慣而造成身體或心理上的傷害,因此我們致力於創造一個舒適、安全、人性化的辦公環境。我們定期檢視、評估並升級辦公室設備,在2022年,我們租賃新的辦公室並設置寬敞的開放空間及咖啡休息區,總計80平方公尺; 全面換新更符合人體工學的辦公椅,並引導員工調整至舒適程度最高且最符合人因工程的坐姿; 採購先進的會議通訊裝置,讓員工進行遠端會議時更便利順暢; 公司也添購Inbody身體組成分析儀及歐姆龍體脂計,並安排受過醫學訓練的專業人員提供專業協助,讓員工於辦公環境仍可隨時掌握身體現狀,照顧自己的健康。

人才發展

Avnet鼓勵持續學習與發展,提供多元豐富的學習管道及發展資源,以培養員工的商業力、英文力及領導力。為滿足多元世代的學習需求,推動多樣化的學習方式,除了結合數位和實體交互進行混成學習,更透過舉辦公司性活動,提升學習文化,在2023年四月首度舉辦為期一周的「LearnFest學習嘉年華」活動,以深化員工對發展資源的了解與應用;舉辦第一屆「說出影響力」比賽,鼓勵員工站上舞台,說出個人信念與人生故事,創造組織正向氛圍。

此外,我們制定明確的績效管理流程,如個人發展計畫、季度追蹤與年度評量,並導入霍根人格測評工具,提供量化數據報表,並結合顧問一對一解讀諮詢服務,幫助員工了解個人發展現況。2022年更推動MentorConnect制度,主張「每一位員工都是職場導師」之理念,鼓勵員工向導師學習職能或尋求專業發展建議,促進員工橫向學習,成為全方位的領導人才。

員工福祉

Avnet視員工和他們的家庭成員為家人,員工生活上所會遇到的婚喪喜慶、進修、旅遊、重要節日等,都會收到公司的賀禮或高額補助。2023年起公司更將原本半天的生日假提高為一天。疫情驗證遠端辦公及彈性上下班時間為員工及公司帶來許多好處,2023年起我們將員工可申請遠端辦公的天數,由一周一天增加為兩天。當員工紛紛回到辦公室工作,我們持續推行彈性上下班時間,讓員工可以更大程度地掌握自己的工作與生活,先照顧好自己及家庭,才能持續與公司共同奮鬥。
