In 2021, we have fundamentally changed our learning model from a local focus to a globally integrated enterprise learning model, powered by technological change. Our new learning strategy is to empower employees to learn and grow to fulfill their career aspirations, while taking advantage of online learning tools and programs. The new Learning Strategy focuses on three pillars: personal and leadership, future focus, and functional skills.
We demonstrated a strong pandemic response through our Transformational Learning Center by implementing e-Learning modules, transforming learning session into online versions, or conducting them remotely in virtual classrooms. With innovations like these, in 2021 we have achieved impressive results: 84% of accounts were activated on LinkedIn Learning and more than 11,000 courses have been completed across learning tools and platforms.
Our Success Profile and My Career tools also helped set development goals for employees to navigate their career. Furthermore, we were the first within the Manulife group to roll out Individual Development Plan to all staff as a way for employees to determine short and long-term career goals and track their progress.

We're proud of what we've achieved in employee engagement scores, achieving #1 across Asia.Here in Vietnam we build a supportive, diverse and promoted workplace. That's why we created the Employee Engagement Action Committee (EEC). Over the past two years, when the pandemic has made us more and more aware of the importance of creating a supportive environment. That led us to make improvements in the EEAC by dividing it into specialized operational groups, focusing on: recognition that also helps build a united team and supportive team.

Company support program during covid
The past few years have also shone a light on the mental and physical cost experienced my many during the pandemic.Manulife understands the importance of having the right support and guidance to help its employees overcome any challenges they may face during such difficult times. The health and safety of our employees is first and foremost.
We are committed to standing side-by-side with all our employees, no matter what challenges they face. During the pandemic we ensured that all individuals received the appropriate support in a timely manner. As such, ‘Isolation Allowance’ and ‘WellCare’ support policies, along with home-delivered care packages, ensured our employees felt well looked after.
In addition, we worked closely with medical advisors to provide the fastest support for employees with Covid, ensuring they received timely medical intervention or health advice during this challenging period.
Manulife also provided seminars, as well as sharing sessions on how to take care and improve the health of employees. We continue to maintain ‘Work-life Coaching’ programs to ensure that everyone can maintain a good work-life balance.
In addition to support packages related to medical examination and treatment for employees and their families, Manulife also recognises the importance of mental health to our overall well-being. Manulife continues to provide various programs and resources for its employees globally, helping champion mental wellbeing, removing the stigma associated with it, and creating a nurturing environment where employees feel supported by their company – personally and professionally.
