Let’s create a world that runs entirely on green energy
Ørsted is leading the way on climate action by developing, constructing, and operating offshore and onshore wind farms, solar farms, energy storage facilities, and bioenergy plants. We built the world’s first offshore wind farm and have broken the record for the world’s largest several times over. We’ve entirely transitioned our business from fossil fuels to renewable energy. Today we’re ranked the world’s most sustainable energy company, a position we’ve proudly held for three years running. This would never have been possible without the knowledge and enthusiasm of our people – Ørsted’s most important asset for future growth.
Our global centre of excellence in Kuala Lumpur
Operating since 2010, our Malaysian office has grown from a small team of three software developers to a hub of more than 668 colleagues with a broad scope across the global organisation. Specialising in IT, digital services, and engineering, we work closely with our colleagues around the world to create pioneering IT solutions, supporting BioEnergy, Offshore, Group, and Business Services. Our Malaysian office is expanding and focusing towards a more diverse business platform, increasing more headcounts for other functional areas such as people & development, finance, graphic design, marketing, engineering, procurement, constructions, operations, legal and other functions of the business rather than an IT approach. With that, diversity & inclusion paves a large foundation in growing and nurturing our organization. Therefore, many initiatives and activities are conducted to support our employees diverse and inclusive journey.

Dealing with challenges during the pandemic
The Covid-19 pandemic has affected many people's work-life balance. Therefore, we have re-created a vibrant work culture experience we have physically in the company. Hence, we have enhanced our flexible workplace to balance between a WFH and at office set up. We have set up a hot desk concept in the office and supplied ergonomic furniture to employees working from home. Our employee’s safety and wellbeing are important. Due to the pandemic, many of us has worked from home for a long time and now we are reboarding them with an office safety tour and we provide self-test kit to our employees. We included all covid-19 safety equipment's to be claimed. We also have a work-life coaching programme to help address mental health issues during this difficult period.
To keep everyone engaged during this period, we organize weekly events prepared by employees such as virtual coffee talks and pop quiz. Alternatively, we have sourced for external activities such as comedy and health awareness talks.
