The growing demands to help people get the most out of life has connected Prudential to local market where Prudential Cambodia began her operations in 2013 to help Cambodian protect and secure their financial future. Since then, Prudential Cambodia has helped more than 300,000 customers access to insurance.

Hybrid Work Arrangement

The Covid-19 has placed challenges that enforced the way of living and working in the new normal of various aspects. Recognizing the needs to ensure a sustainable way that brings out the best in all, both as individuals and company, Prudential Cambodia constantly iterates to provide the working platform giving flexibility to staff to prioritize their wellbeing, while they can choose to work from their own setting with clear guidance to improve the performance and collaboration among team, and colleagues through the deployment of hybrid work arrangement. Yet, this is not the end of the story. In order to achieve a successful hybrid work culture, Prudential has developed a comprehensive playbook on hybrid working, which is widely used as the navigator, and hosted a series of communication platforms - just to name a few, the Future of Work webinar series, future-ready skills and many other technical and people skills to ensure that hybrid working model is effective.

New Target Operating Model - NTOM

Adaptable organization with an agile operating model is the new language for Prudential Cambodia to grow, transform and stay significantly relevant in the market. Standing as one of the youngest workforces in the region as young as average 28 years of age, this young segment is curious to explore, open to change, and make an impact to contribute something bigger than just a career. By operating this agile transformation, it opens wider opportunity to boarding a network of team from dynamics and expertise working together cross-functionally to come up with solutions faster, reallocate resources and develop the product efficiently and effectively, standing on the three common principles which drive high level of involvement 1) customer-centricity, knowing who the value is created for and how, 2) flexibly scalable network of empowered team, and 3) rapid learning cycle, prioritization & quick delivery. This paradigm shift heralds a new form of organization that enables innovation, collaboration, and value creation at unprecedented speed, scale, and impact which has shaped Prudential’s people strategy to redesign the approach to people development and engagement to become a “Purpose-led culture” organization.

Wellbeing

Wellbeing is one of the key priorities that Prudential Cambodia strongly focuses under 4 pillars of Employee Values Proportion pledges i) Health and Wellness, 2) Mental Wellbeing, 3) Financial Wellbeing, and 4) Work-Life Blend. To highlight a few, Employee Assistance Program is available 24/7 to provide confidential consultation service from personal counselling to mindfulness session and life coaching to all Prudential staff for free. Meanwhile, wellness leave is strongly encouraged that staff can optimize their private and personal times by disconnecting all work-related matters to ensure that staff wellbeing is best utilized by their own.

Emerging among the first leading insurance companies, Prudential Cambodia provides stronger supports to employees with parenting responsibilities through introducing new parental benefits on paid maternity leave which is extended up to 05 months, while paternity leave is up to 15 days. The new policy not only instils diversities and inclusions in the workplace, but also enhances company’s purpose as one Prudential to help people get the most out of life, while maintains its status as the best company to work for.

Employee Engagement

Prudential has initiated numbers of engagement platforms where employee can voice, connect and engage ranging from employee engagement activities to engagement surveys and global crowd-sourced platform to deepen the sense of belonging, and help employee to Connect, Grow and Succeed. One of the foremost remarkable platforms Collaboration Jam, a 72-hour online crowd-sourced conversation, brings entire employee population onto best-spoke platform to voice their opinion around Prudential’s commitment with a real-time inclusive conversation. This platform has set the stage to bring actionable initiatives, and insights since 2020 whereby recent development of Core Values and Future-Ready Skills are examples of typical products from Collaboration Jam. In 2022, more than 8,000 employees joint the platform and shared their thought about Belonging at Prudential where 130,000 quality comments have been contributed.

Environmental, Social, and Governance - ESG

At Prudential, a sophisticated ESG framework has been developed to ensure clear communication and alignment which apply to all levels of business under three key pillars 1) Making health and financial security accessible, 2) Stewarding the human impacts of climate change, 3) Building social capital supported by strategic enablers which cut across all functions in the business from employee engagement to investment. This framework is unique in a sense that is aimed to contribute more than just compliance to regulation, but goes beyond to contribute to global issue which effects everyone. Meanwhile, local business unit can invest in the social needs of specific country that the business operates in through product development, and community investment. For instance, in Cambodia road accident is a huge problem. Therefore, Prudential Cambodia has been investing much budget assisting the local ministry to drive decade action on road safety issue. Meanwhile, from product development, PruMySafety a bite-size digital product was launched for road accident coverage at an affordable cost. Such initiatives have connected employees to the concerning social and environmental issues beside the industry they are working. The contribution both directly or indirectly into the positive change connects the sense of being meaningful at work with Prudential Cambodia despites what role they are working in.
