Caring For Our People

As Human Capital, we take pride in continuous improvements in our plans to serve our employees. Employee Engagement survey results have been instrumental in identifying the true needs of our staff and have led to important initiatives in areas such as safety & wellness, as well as career opportunities which have greatly enhanced employee experience. Our most recent survey shows that our FY2020 Employee Engagement Score was 85%, which benchmarked with the best employers. Moreover, HC believes unity across ThaiBev Group is key to caring for our people across all work environments. As such, we promote ONENESS through our Global Values (creating values, collaborations, caring for stakeholders) to ensure employees strive to work together and drive our organization towards success as one.

Since the early stage of COVID-19 pandemic, ThaiBev has taken quick action with safety as the top priority to secure excellent wellbeing of our employees. Key initiatives include:
  • Providing COVID-19 insurance for employees including part-time and contract employees
  • Investing in our own COVID-19 Testing Center for our employees to ensure testing and treatment are accessible and timely since the early stage of the pandemic.
  • Providing free high-quality surgical masks produced from our own facility
  • Setting up COVID-19 Relief Center or CRC which offers 24/7 call center services established with full-time and volunteer staff from Human Capital team. The mission of CRC is to ensure employees are safe and healthy. The services include:
    • Assessment and follow-up calls for employees in high-risk areas through alerts from daily COVID-19 risk assessment via our own COVID-19 application and platform
    • Finding hospitals and providing suggestions for home isolation
    • Assessment and follow-up on post COVID-19 vaccine symptoms

    Since the latest COVID-19 cluster in Thailand from 2020 to August 2021, CRC has serviced a total of 110,947 cases of alerts for 13,456 employees across the country. Interestingly, caring for our employees has accelerated digital adoption to 98%. This is an extraordinary achievement given a large portion of our employees are blue-collar staff and Baby Boomers. Engaging content and communications via online platforms were the key success factors of our digitalization journey.

    Business Continuity

    While the COVID-19 pandemic has disrupted businesses across the world and weakened consumer demand, ThaiBev Group was able to maintain our net profit in 2020, declining only marginally at 0.1% YoY. Our robust portfolio of business helped cushioned the inevitable impact on the food retail business, and the Group continued to get stronger as well as deepening our sustainability initiatives.

    Accepting our public responsibility to continue offering services to our beloved customers, up to 75% of our workforce has continued to work onsite throughout the pandemic. We have been able to support them to operate our business smoothly maintaining their safety with our strict safety protocol. Employees who have been working from home have also been working effectively and have remained safe as they have also been well-guided by our work-from-home safety protocol. We are proud to stand by our employees everyday through digital engagement, call center, and network of support to make sure that our staff stay stronger together beyond the pandemic.
