SAP Purpose and Promise

SAP started in 1972 as a team of five colleagues with a desire to do something new. Together, they changed enterprise software and reinvented how business was done. Today, the same entrepreneurial spirit continues to drive our culture of creativity, diversity, and collaboration. We believe that together we can transform industries, grow economies, lift up societies, and sustain our environment.

Our purpose is to help the world run better and improve people’s lives. Our promise is to innovate to help our customers run at their best. We engineer solutions to fuel innovation, foster equality, and spread opportunity across borders and cultures.

Established in 1995, SAP Thailand began to help organisations in Thailand run better. Thailand is the main location/office of the SAP Indo China business group which also manages SAP’s business in Myanmar, Laos, Cambodia, Maldives, Bhutan, and Nepal.

The key to SAP’s success is our people – unique individuals who are constantly pushing boundaries and breaking down barriers. We are committed to be the great place to work in all aspects.

Connected – Healthy – Safe – Productive Working Environment During the Pandemic

COVID-19 has made a profound and pervasive impact on the health and well-being. Since the onset of the pandemic, SAP put health and safety of employees and their families at most priority. We rolled out a strategy called ‘ Back to the Best ” to help our employees and their families navigating through the challenging time.

Responding to the pandemic in the initial phase, we adopted a remote working policy for all employees to be able to work from home. All employees are equipped with tools to allow them to stay connected and be productive. We also created an Employee Assistance Program (EAP) that offers not only emotional support in times of crises but also practical support, personal and professional counseling to cope with all kind of life’s challenges 24/7. Employees can get emotional support and expert advice specially on the COVID-19 related topics.

Moving towards the recovery phase, SAP Thailand advocates for a flexible and inclusive work environment and grounds the model on a trust-based workplace. Our " Pledge to Flex " policy seeks to account for the range of preferences expressed by employees, with majority of our employees value the flexibility that enables them to meet both their professional and personal commitments. Therefore, we create an inclusive environment in which people can work from home, at the office, or remotely, and it is possible for them to set flexible schedules.

Health and Well-being

SAP heavily invested in supporting health and well-being for our employees during the pandemic. We are helping to ensure that our employees and their families have access to company-sponsored COVID-19 vaccinations and testing . All of our employees have access to COVID-19 vaccines in collaboration with Chulabhorn Royal Academy. Our Flexible Health Fund has been adjusted to cover some of COVID-19 related items, e.g. purchase of Oxygen Concentrator, Oximeter, etc.

Work-from-home can make employees feel productive, but it can also get in the way of collaboration and make them feel isolated. That’s why virtual activities are important for SAP to promote team collaboration, diversity & inclusion, and work-life balance. We created several virtual team building activities for our employees such as a virtual run event and special interest clubs , a Fit@SAP program to keep track of daily steps and try to increase employees’ activity level, a Korean Drama Club where employees can exchange fun and off-work topic and the 20th SAP Pride celebration where we provides a safe space for the community and actively engages in driving LGBT+ inclusion and diversity. Together, SAP employees stand up against inequality and raise their voices whenever needed.

Helping others is part of our DNA, we continue to run COVID-19 related campaigns to contribute as a team despite working from home.

Marked two years milestone, we are overwhelmed with gratitude to be awarded as Best Companies to Work for in Thailand. We are so honored to have our endeavor and effort in fueling innovation, fostering equality and inclusion, and spreading opportunity and collaboration recognized by HR Asia. SAP shall continue our commitment to help our partner and customer run better, provide a safe place for our people. Together. Life at SAP is balanced and fair – especially in challenging time.

Virtual Learning and Development Program

Online learning has become an integral part of business. The ‘ SAP Training and Enablement ’ has been offering learning courses for employees. Whether it is related to up-skilling, cross-skilling, or specific company Business Law to ensure legal compliance. Learning resources from SAP are ideal in keeping the employer and employees in sync.

For personal development, SAP embraced a unique performance management philosophy without ratings. We call it our very own “ SAP Talk ” founded based on continuous dialogue. This performance philosophy introduces a real-time way of developing employees by ensuring managers and employees talk more often. It combines ongoing discussions and integrates the voice of the employee through an Upward Survey. This helps promote high performance culture to improve individual development and career aspiration.

This year, we continue our commitment of improving everyone’s experiences and cultivate corporate culture with #Unfiltered People Survey to effectively listening to our employees and respecting their feedback and ideas. Our #Unfiltered People Survey have three tool that enables the measurement of employee engagement Listen – Understand – Act. The flagship survey helps us keep track if we are taking the right action to address the feedback as we hear not just listen.

SAP Empowers Digital Thailand

In order to achieve the digital economic, technology must be adopted at scale and diffused throughout the ecosystem. The youth is one of key driving the ‘Digital Thailand’ growth. SAP established the ASEAN Data Science Explorers (ASEAN DSE) program in collaborating with ASEAN Foundation, aimed to help youths in ASEAN improve their digital skills. In Thailand, close to 600 students and lecturers from 9 Institutes of Higher Learning have been trained with SAP Analytics Cloud.

At SAP, we want to help each other run better. Together, Life at SAP is balanced and fair – especially in this challenging time.
