Our founder Eugène Schueller once said that “a company is not walls and machines, it’s people, people, people”. Teams are our heroes. They are the foundation of the way we work at L’Oréal. Our leaders celebrate team performance, empowering individuals to test, learn, and innovate together. We believe in every member of our teams and we encourage everyone to express their personality so that our company can continue to evolve.

Our team can be authentic, be sincere, and be who they are. We create products for people from all walks of life. To ensure that our products meet the needs of every form of beauty, our team members must be as diverse and inclusive as the world itself. We foster workplaces where people of every ethnicity, social background, religion, gender, age or disability—visible or invisible—feel welcomed and valued. We believe in having a diverse, supportive, and welcoming work environment as we want people to feel they can be themselves and thrive in our teams.

We make learning and development the top priorities for our teams. For L’Oréal, helping every employee to develop professionally is both central to driving performance and a question of responsibility. We are committed to ensuring that every employee will benefit from at least one training session annually. We offer different learning platforms including online training portals, webinars and activations. We have both internal and external experts to help us drive forward the learning and development of both soft skills and specific skill sets. In 2020, the learning hours of L’Oreal Thailand employees increased 43%. In 2021, we have expanded our learning habits to focus more online and the learning hours to date from the online platform have improved 13% compared to the same period last year.

We focus on building a culture that improves how we work. This includes promoting the exchange of constructive feedback, conducting effective meetings, fostering cooperation, and giving freedom within a frame. We also promote a Test & Learn mindset, in which our team is encouraged to create, make mistakes, learn from them, and try again. Furthermore, we empower our team to take the lead and make decisions.

In terms of compensations and benefits, the "Share & Care" program was created to provide a wide common benefits frame to L’Oréal employees organized around four key pillars: Protection, Health, Balance, and Workplace.

Currently, Share & Care evolves to stay in tune with the present times, committed to meet employees' needs and expectations at every key moment of their life in a fast-changing world and putting a special emphasis on Health and the New Ways of Working.
  • PROTECTION:Providing social protection to our employees
Considering social protection whether in the form of insurance, social benefits, or financial support in the event of unexpected life events, providing employees with a sense of security for themselves and their families. In Thailand, our employees’ life insurance covers their 24-months salary.
  • HEALTH: Optimizing the level of well-being of our employees
We go beyond physical health. Because being healthy is not only a question of physical health, but also of mental wellbeing. We offer professional mental health counseling services to our employees. For physical health, we continue to provide benefits on gym access to our employees.
  • BALANCE: More flexibility to meet with new ways of working
The issue of work/life balance and all the resulting aspirations linked to the new vision of the working world, parenthood, etc. Therefore, we extend flexibility in working organization and consider new ways of working to answer the collective need of working differently, in a more agile and flexible way. L’Oreal Thailand offers 15 days of flex leave on top of annual leave which employees can use to suit their own needs such as taking care of families, performing religious practices, or improving personal health and wellness. Work from home is offered once a week. For parents, we offer 115 days for maternity leave, and 14 days plus 2 weeks work from home for paternity leave. We also have Happy Friday where we switch off computers at 4pm on Friday. These offers make us one of the most flexible companies in Thailand. We are open to new ideas to constantly improve our employee work/life balance.
  • WORKPLACE: Improving the working experience
Work environments and work tools are important for us as they support collaboration, creativity, agility, and efficiency. We continue to improve and upgrade our work tools and IT infrastructure to ensure our team can work, connect, and collaborate smoothly. We also ensure our workplace and work arrangement strictly complies with our Environment, Health and Safety policy.

We keep our team engaged and ensure they enjoy our activities. Some of the most popular and anticipated activities are ‘V Meet’, an annual meeting that brings every team, comprising 600 people together to learn about the company’s priorities and strategies from our leaders and we have a fun theme party at the end of the day. There is also ‘Citizen Day’ where everyone dedicates an entire day volunteering together to perform good deeds for the society and environment.

With our commitment to be one of the best places to work for in Thailand, our management and leadership team are working hard and taking actions based on the feedback they receive from employees through the Pulse survey. We know there is always room for improvement, and so far over 90% of our employees tell us that they feel proud to work for L’Oreal Thailand and they are our ambassadors to tell the stories of our company with the utmost pride and confidence.
