Our Company

Johnson & Johnson’s Purpose of “blending heart, science and ingenuity in profoundly changing the trajectory of health for humanity” unites the employees of Johnson & Johnson worldwide. The company’s legacy of 134 years of innovation has made it the largest, most diverse healthcare company globally.

J&J established its Singapore office in 1947 and is home to approximate 1,200 employees. In 2018, we launched our regional HQ to strengthen our commitment to serve as the regional hub and platform for innovation, collaboration and development for our talents.

Growing Our Talents by Leaps and Bounds

At J&J, we see our talents’ careers as a continuous journey - constantly growing and evolving. We have a personalised development framework (Educate, Experience, and Exposure) to ensure our talents learn and discover new things every day. In 2020, despite the pandemic, we kept to our development promise. We ensured that the same percentage of employees experienced new opportunities and internal rotations successfully as in 2019. In 2021, we expect to see a significant increase in placement rate for our employees.

Digital Awakening

The pandemic has accelerated the digital transformation within J&J to drive business outcomes. We launched a digital awakening campaign in 2021 to strengthen the digital capabilities of all our employees via a series of multi-format trainings. We also have a Digital Buddy Programme to promote a collaborative environment and strengthen the digital learning experience of our employees.

Leadership Lab

J&J Leadership Lab continues to help our leaders and talents develop global mindset and experience and drive the next chapter of healthcare innovation in Asia. During the pandmic, new virtual learning platforms were swiftly implemented to accelerate our talents and leadership development. Our existing Talent Acceleration Program (TAP), focused on preparing our senior-level talent for critical enterprise positions, and ASCEND program, targeted at elevating female leaders, also kicked off successfully via virtual platforms.

Healthiest Workforce in the World

We continue to champion having the world’s healthiest workforce through our HealthForce campaigns. As the lines blur with working from home, we know our employees experience varying levels of fatigue. Having exceeded our 2020 targets, we launched HealthForce 2025 to further enhance our employees’ overall well-being and health.

Leading through Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DE&I)

We continue to enhance our culture of inclusion and build a diverse workforce so that our employees have a deep sense of belonging. Through this, we unleash the potential of our talent mix.

Serving Our Community

Our J&J employees are passionate about changing the trajectory of health for humanity. Nothing, not even the pandemic, could deter the strong community spirit of our employees.

Some highlights include:
  • We launched a three-year Bridge to Employment programme this year to inspire underprivileged students to pursue their interest in STEM. More than 37 J&J volunteers devoted their time to mentor the inaugural batch of 48 beneficiaries through virtual mentoring and interactive sharing sessions.
  • In 2020, we scaled up and launched a J&J SG company-wide fundraising campaign for Sight for Kids to raise SGD6,927 and help 20,420 children.
  • To inspire young women and increase the representation of women in STEM, WISTEM2D2 has organised nearly 200 online and hybrid events for close to 2,000 women and students Singapore during the pandemic.
  • We organised a toy and cash donation drive and raised more than SGD3,500 to LOVE NILS for children who have cancer and are undergoing treatments at the local hospitals.
