International Operations Division has been successful in ensuring that our personal care products are available globally. Splash has established market presence in over 30 countries through its distributors and local exporters. These countries include Australia, Bahrain, Brunei, Canada, Hong Kong, Japan, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Myanmar, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Taiwan, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom, and the United States.

Behind the success of Splash is its most valued asset – its people. As an employer, Splash’s main priority is to build and sustain an organization where people are inspired, performing, learning, and nurturing. In support of this thrust, Splash ensures that relevant, appropriate, and well-defined workplace policies and programs are in place and implemented the Splash Way.

The Splash Way

For Splash, a crucial factor in the achievement of its People objectives is Culture. We pride ourselves in having fostered a company culture that is valued and appreciated by our employees.

We sustain our positive culture by being consistent in the quality of employee experience at every touchpoint. We believe that engaging employees starts on Day 0; therefore, we strive to give a wonderful candidate experience by being efficient and transparent in our recruitment process. Our onboarding program starts on Day 1 with a complete set of tools of the trade, detailed company orientation, and newbie perks. We also dedicate a segment in our annual assembly to formally introduce each new employee to the whole organization.

Our employee engagement does not stop there. We are aggressive in talent retention and we deploy various engagement initiatives to deeply connect with our people. We celebrate important dates like birthdays, work anniversaries, and festivities like Thanksgiving/Christmas. We provide avenues for employees to pursue their interests through sports tournaments, book clubs, cook-off challenges, pop quizzes, and karaoke sessions. Employees also get to express their creativity, hidden talents, and competitive spirit while also building teamwork in our House Cup Program which won the prestigious National People Program of the Year Award by the People Management Association of the Philippines in 2018.

Aside from conducting fun activities, we also enable holistic employee development through the implementation of different learning interventions such as coaching/mentoring, cross-posting, stretched assignments/extended roles, technical/functional training programs, and leadership development programs. To further encourage learning, Splash institutionalized a financial assistance program for employees who are pursuing continuing professional education. In addition, financial incentives are rewarded to employees who finished graduate studies and passed licensure examinations.

We also believe that outstanding performance and role-modeling of the company values should be reinforced through recognition. Splash implements various Rewards and Recognition (R&R) Programs (financial/non-financial) which range from simple e-mail announcements of employees’ small wins to formal awarding ceremonies, and from free lunch to financial incentives for all regardless of their rank and function in the organization. In addition to the R&R Programs, Splash employees also enjoy benefit items beyond the mandatory requirements of the government. Our benefits scheme promotes work-life balance and is oriented towards the family needs of our employees. Customization and convenience in availing these benefits are also made possible through our Flexible Benefits program.

Complementing these people programs are policies that protect the welfare of our employees. We strive to promote a work environment that is free from discrimination and harassment. Employees are protected by our Code of Business Conduct and Ethics and we ensure due process is followed in the resolution of any complaints raised. Our Prevention of Sexual Harassment Committee serves as the helpdesk of employees and third-party partners, for reporting harassment concerns. A 24/7 hotline for anonymous reporting is also available.

We are also an equal opportunity employer. We do not discriminate based on religion, gender, age, disability, religion, or socio-economic background. Our talent decisions are purely based on merit. As a testament to our diversity and inclusion philosophy, the gender ratio in Splash is 58% (Male): 42% (Female).

Making a Splash

As a member of the society, we believe that we have a responsibility to make it better. Splash has partnered with NGOs and provided support for their advocacies on education, child/elderly care, environmental protection, public service, and other charitable endeavors. When the COVID-19 pandemic hit the Philippines, we donated three million worth of essential goods to the government, hospitals, and frontliners, and provided livelihood to 126 families in Valenzuela and Bulacan.

Our employer branding campaign, #WhyWeLoveSplash, started in 2016 and continues to be the overarching theme of our employee experience strategies. Our employees are our brand ambassadors, and they have proven to be very effective endorsers of our employer brand. A search on social media using this hashtag will show countless posts by our employees on everything about Splash. The company’s employer branding efforts also won for Splash the Employer Branding Institute’s “Best Employer Brand” award in the Philippines and Asia in 2019.
