Kimberly-Clark’s purpose of Better Care for a Better world has defined the company’s culture for almost 150 years. As a company that is Purpose Led, Performance Driven, our values and ways of working form the cornerstone of how we provide better care for our consumers, our people, and our planet.
Our Ambitions for 2030
As a performance driven organization, we hold ourselves accountable to the promises we have made and work towards an undisputable landmark in terms of the impact we have and will create. This ambition is massive but clear: We are challenging ourselves to improve the lives and wellbeing of one billion people in underserved communities around the world with the smallest environmental footprint.
What exactly does this mean?
It is a 10-year ambition that we will all need to strive towards. To ensure that employees stay steadfast in our Purpose and ambition, we have developed a Culture Compass to demystify our Purpose and serve as a guide for all employees regardless of seniority.
Impact K-C has created in the lives of Malaysians
K-C has been at the forefront of providing care to Malaysians through community outreach programmes and we doubled down on our efforts when the pandemic struck. In a bid to realise our sustainability ambition, we joined the country’s Covid-19 relief work by donating over RM1 million in daily essentials to the underserved. Additionally, we had worked hand in hand with various NGOs across the country to offer help to women and families in need. Through our brand Kotex, we had also forged a partnership with WOMEN:Girls and pledged to help fight period poverty by providing 20,000 girls and women with menstrual hygiene products. Our People
Our employees’ welfare and growth are integral to our business. Hence, we have created an exceptional workplace environment with an open channel of communication, top-class benefits, flexible working arrangement and more.We abide by these three key approaches to HR – developing a strong talent pool through various career development opportunities; growing our employees’ capabilities through Experience, Exposure and Education; and creating a culture that every employee is proud to be a part of. Essentially, we are helping unleash the power of our people and shaping a future-ready, agile workforce.
Today, we are very proud to have attracted and retained the best people that believe in our Purpose to deliver Better Care for a Better World even in the face of adversity. Therefore, we remain steadfast to grow our people so they can be the very best version of themselves for themselves as well as for the enterprise. We will also continue to prioritize interpersonal and physical development because we believe that a strong workforce is one that is inclusive, diverse, and healthy.
“The Covid-19 pandemic brought about unprecedented and profound struggles that challenged us to stretch our thinking and get out of our comfort zones. We had to reshape our approach even to HR and employee engagement as we went into an extended lockdown. Hence, we understood the importance of clearly communicating strategies, being transparent and timely with updates to our employees and taking heed of our employees’ feedback because we believe that is how families behave, and a family is always stronger together,” said Ng Li Lin, HR Director of Kimberly-Clark Malaysia .
“Being named one of the Best Companies to Work For is merely a reflection of how every employee delivers on the K-C Purpose, Values and Culture every day. We responded fast to safeguard our people and business when the pandemic struck. We also witnessed first-hand how team members and the leadership team worked together to develop and grow each other and the enterprise. Ultimately, we are playing to win because we owe it to ourselves and our consumers. This has helped us create a meaningful organisation that we are all proud to be a part of. It gives us Purpose every day because we know that Better Care for a Better World starts with us,” concluded Rahul Asthana, Managing Director of Kimberly-Clark Malaysia .
