In 2020, Clarivate announced the establishment of a global Center of Excellence (CoE) in Penang, Malaysia. The Penang CoE is one of three Clarivate CoEs that deliver world-class services, with the other two based in Chandler, U.S. and Belgrade, Serbia. It serves as a central hub for Clarivate in Asia, providing sales and customer support to global customers.

At the Penang CoE, Clarivate already has 250 colleagues to support operations. The CoE has multi-lingual capabilities, supporting customers in English, Mandarin, Japanese and Korean, and plans to expand its competencies to Arabic, Hindi, French and German.

Clarivate (Malaysia) is an MSC certified company and partners closely with government agencies such as Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation, Malaysian Investment Development Authority, Invest Penang, Northern Corridor Economic Region and Talent Corp. “Here in Penang we have a key focus on Customer Delight and plan to continue to build a digitalized community and globalize operations,” said Shankar Nagalingam, Vice President for the Clarivate CoE in Penang.
