Cares Councils Employee Volunteerism
Cargill Cares Councils are an employee led team that implement strategic community engagement activities on behalf of their business or locations to ensure that Cargill is giving back to the community in which we operate in In Malaysia, Cargill Cares have organized multiple corporate social responsibility (CSR) programs such as World Food Day and Cargill Malaysia’s COVID 19 Fund.

World Food Day Food safety is essential in our goal of nourishing the world in a safe, responsible and sustainable way For the past 30 years, we have worked hard on our food safety program Cargill Animal Nutrition’s business in Malaysia celebrated World Food Day by raising awareness on the importance of a healthy diet.

In past years, the Malaysia business has given presentations on food hygiene, how to eliminate food waste, general health and nutrition, and shared goody bags filled with healthy food to the local communities.

Cares Councils Employee Volunteering
COVID 19 Fund Cargill MY contributed medical personnel protective equipment to 3 hospitals. Additionally 800 K masks and 114 drums of hand sanitizers were donated to 35 schools across Malaysia to help minimize the risks for school going kids In short, Cargill MY donated around RM 900 K to the community.

CARGILL IS COMMITTED TO PROVIDE SUPPORT TO OUR EMPLOYEES THROUGHOUT THE GLOBAL PANDEMIC COVID-19.

In March 2020, most of our employees were working from home due to the COVID-19 pandemic. To stay connected we provided them with the necessary support they would need.

We reviewed our existing process and procedures to accommodate the unprecedented situation. This include rolling out a convenience day to day process for all employees, ad hoc/ temporary allowances during MCO for our essential workers at our plants.

We ensured ongoing communications and keep updating employees of any changes or announcement by the Government, so they are aware of the latest happening.

For employees affected by the COVID-19 situation and were required to stay at home, basic essential and food were packed and delivered to their doorsteps to ensure they were taken care of.
