Learning through Experience and Actual Practice (LEAP) is a local program aimed to support our teams’ growth and development. We had over 60 learning sessions, +1,000 participants across brands with satisfaction of +77!

Leaders Exploration and Development (LEAD) Program

A program that welcomes and develops accelerated and top-notch graduates to explore different functions and learning opportunities, a job rotation every six months and hired permanently either as a specialist or a leader.

Reverse Mentoring: This is about reinforcing collaboration between generation aimed to reduce the power distance between staff (as a mentor) and senior leaders (as a mentee).

Leading Maersk: New leaders participate in advanced learning program in strengthening their leadership capabilities and our leadership pipeline.

Strategies for Success: A leadership capability for our women talents together with other women talents in the region.

Short Term Assignments: We have successfully accelerated employee experience and development through various short-term assignments and rotation within the functions in and outside the country.


At Maersk, we support our colleagues’ holistically. In all ways, we want our colleagues to feel safe. Our goal is “a state of well-being in which they recognize their own potentials; can cope with normal stresses of life, can function fruitfully and productively, As part of our World Mental Health Day observance, we deliver insightful webinars focused on knowledge of mental health, resilience, work-life balance, stress management and understanding of depression.

Mental Health Week: Promoting self-care practice and to continue checking on their friends and loved ones. We had week-long motivational event, Art Therapy, Game Room, Yoga/Zumba, Freedom Wall, and Mental Health talks focused on Depression/Burnout Sensitivity and Dealing with Change.

Employee Assistance Program (EAP): We have established a globally driven assistance program called EAP accessible 24/7 by telephone, email, text and online, providing free, confidential information, referrals and in the moment support.

How R U Program (HRU): The HRU program supports newcomers through promoting emotional support among peer groups via setting up groups by similar age. The program also provides a venue for comfortable communication with HR through setting up a call based on these peer groups.


Maersk considers prevention an important part of our rewards strategy, aiming to create an environment for employees to take responsibility for their health and wellbeing, enabling them to be at their best for all the Moments that Matter.

Maersk Day Care: Long holidays like Idul Fitri in Indonesia can be a challenge for working parents because nannies are on extended leave. Supporting them is “Maersk Day Care” or Bring Kids at Work Program.

Extended Maternity and Adoption Leave: All female employees and adopting employees are entitled to a fully paid maternity or adoption leave as applicable. With 18 weeks as applicable.

Returning from maternity: We aim to achieve at least a 90% maternity return rate for women coming back from maternity leave to ensure the retention of valuable knowledge and experience. New moms also get to have a reduced working hour for 6 months.

A Star Is Born: In welcoming our new baby superstars, we give a baby hamper as a welcome gift!

Health and Wellness comes weekly with our Zumba and Yoga Classes, with fresh fruits on Monday to start the week right and Wednesday to sustain healthy eating habits and quarterly health caravans

Culture of Appreciation and Empowerment: a digitalized Instant recognition program called Instapat where colleagues recognize anyone anywhere in the world!

Maersk STARS Recognition Platform: Comprehensive rewards program including SPOT recognition and BONUS awards for employees who went above and beyond.


Achieving our Diversity and Inclusion ambition is up to all of us; across different nationalities, genders, generations, religions, disabilities, sexual orientations, ethnicities and perspectives.

As a priority, we focused on two big tickets: building inclusion and driving diversity.

Culture Days @ Maersk! Quarterly Culture Days in the country with the complete mix of engagement, wellbeing, diversity and inclusion and learning activities.

Employee Network: Employee driven networks that promote in every country’s inclusive practices. In Indonesia we call it MIX or Maersk Inclusion for Excellence.

Diversity and Inclusion Week: Strengthening our understanding on D&I. Several local and regional learning sessions in various format and driven by leaders i.e. Unconscious Bias, corroborating the annual International Women’s Month

Rainbow Container photo contest: In support of diversity and inclusion, Maersk designed a special rainbow coloured container to travel around world ports, and reward those with the best picture.

Reducing the Gap: Actionable strategies to reduce the following: staff ratio, pay gap and leadership ratio between male and female among others


Responsible Organization: Through Maersk Cares, we were able to materialize our socio-economic commitments allowing us to champion our care for education, environment and host communities. We participated to various clean up drive, mangrove planting, charity works and donation drives. Maersk Alumni or “Fellows for Life” is a local initiative of building lifelong relationships and committed to the success of our former colleagues no matter what journey they pursued. The pilot was attended by approximately 50 Alumni - who are continuously soaring high with their chosen professions. Reconnect, Network and Learn University Partnerships: Having sustainable partnership with various local universities in the country. This means focus on preparing the next generation. Engagement and career talks are all leader led and soon, a partnership on project management and immersion.


INNOVALOGUE is a crowdsourcing program that enables employees explore ideas and give them a platform to be creative. Ideas are submitted individually or by a project team, be it cross functionally, between countries or brands.
