Employee Health and Wellbeing

We constantly closely engage our team, the Lazadians, through a variety of fun, creative yet productive approaches. Since the start of the pandemic, we provided all Lazadians their personal COVID-19 Care Kit to help them transitioning from working from office to be working from home, while maintaining their health and safety.

During our most busy times, the major campaigns period such as Lazada Birthday campaign, 11.11 or 12.12, all Lazadians receive campaign-themed packages directly to their residences and we create a celebration albeit virtually, with entertainment, games and pep-talks, so Lazadians can still enjoy and celebrate the festivities safely from the comfort of their homes.

To ensure Lazadian’s well-being during the challenging time, we arrange livestreaming sessions focusing on health and wellbeing topics by inviting experts guests, for example “Parenting during pandemic situation”, “Managing stress and mental health”, and many more. On a regular basis, we also create engaging virtual events by Lazadians for Lazadians to provide a sense of connections between the teams, ranging from serious discussions to fun activities like executive cook out, and activities addressed to Lazadians’ families during our Lazada Day in May.

We understands that health is important to support our ‘work happily, live seriously’ value, and we partner with Lifeworks by Morneau Shepell to conduct a wellbeing program called Lazada Employee Assistance Program (Lazada EAP). The Lazada EAP is a confidential, zero-cost service provided to all eligible full-time employees in Lazada Indonesia and is readily available 24/7, 365 days a year, where they will get access to phone interactions with experts for short-term counselling and access to the Lifeworks app that provides self-help resources, which they can access at their own pace, anytime, anywhere. The program covers topics ranging from health and wellbeing, work related issues, as well as relationship and family matters.

Accommodative and Fun, Entertaining Workplace

As the eCommerce platform supported by Alibaba’s advanced technology, technology is a part of our daily life. During this pandemic, we are able to continue business as usual as we are fully supported by sophisticated technology and tools that allow us to do every work arrangement virtually. From arranging virtual meeting, to data management and working arrangements. We recently introduced AI chatbot to address frequently-asked employees' inquiries faster.

We also believe working should always also be fun. This encourages us to provide comfortable working space at the office for the Lazadians. While everything needs to be shifted to online from the time being, we remain trying to keep the fun activities for Lazadians. “Cooking with Lazadians”, “Virtual Games and Challenges”, “Lazadians Mobile Legends Competition”, and “Tik Tok Challenges”, are amongst fun activities we have done to keep every employee is entertained, in the midst of works.

Learning and Development

In Lazada Indonesia, self and personal development is as important as career and professional development. Thus, we are committed to always provide learning opportunities for the Lazadians since the very beginning. Our comprehensive onboarding program called “Grow Newbies” helps our new joiners to integrate with Lazada ecosystem and values.

We hold our training and development programs in various forms: live offline, live online, and self-paced online. We follow the ‘70-20-10’ principle on learning, whereby to be effective, learning has to be combination of workshops/classrooms (10%), coaching and mentoring (20%), real projects application/on the job learning (70%). Lazadians are also provided free access to Udemy for Business for self-learning anytime, anywhere.

Career at Lazada Indonesia

In Lazada Indonesia, career is not vertical. It’s rather lattice pathways. We provide individual development tools where people can fill in their career aspiration and what development needs to achieve that goal, which then it will be recorded and is aligned with their Line Manager. We do have our internal transfer policy to support this philosophy, whereby for employee who meets the requirement, they could apply for internal transfer. Given that employees have always been our priority, our total compensation philosophy is to have a competitive and differentiated compensation to drive continuous performance. In Lazada, we do periodical review for our compensation benefit to ensure it remains competitive in the market.
