Hang Lung has implemented policies to integrate sustainability into our business operations and value chain. Our Code of Conduct sets out the Company's business philosophy and sets out standards and codes of ethical conduct for all directors and employees. Systems and procedures are in place to enhance transparency and accountability across the Company, along with checks and balances and a whistleblowing policy so as to ensure integrity is being adhered by our employees. We value two-way dialogue and are always ready to listen to our staff with an open mind. Our staff keeps abreast of updates on our corporate developments through a host of online and offline media, such as our internal bi-monthly newsletter Connections, the intranet and our WeShare portal on WeChat. Every month, new staff members are invited to join a breakfast meeting with our General Manager, an occasion that has become a key bridge of communication between management and staff. Our open, honest and proactive attitude makes our colleagues feel that they are being listened to.
Employee well-being is particularly important to business performance. We take various measures to improve employee well-being, including but not limited to:
Provision of competitive salary and benefits, including birthday gift, maternity leave, paternity leave, paternity leave, medical insurance and many other benefits, also provide "employee parking" preferential parking and all kinds of employee discounts. The year 2020 marked the 60th anniversary of Hang Lung Group (parent company of Hang Lung Properties)'s establishment. To commemorate this important milestone, we have added a "Founder’s Day " full paid leave for all employees beginning from last year.
As an employer, we have the responsibility to safeguard the health and wellbeing of our employees. We maintain a safe workplace through our Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Policy and implementation of necessary preventive and mitigation measures for identified safety hazards. During the COVID-19 outbreak, common area of our office space was disinfected once every two hours; employees were also provided with anti-pandemic materials such as surgical masks, and sanitizers; free psychological auxiliary hotline and flexible office hours were also implemented. Besides, we provide frontline staff with products that can keep them cool in the hot summer every year. These are just examples of the measures we have to enable each of our employees feel the care of the Company.
In 2020, we formalized flexible working arrangements. From March 2020, office workers are able to apply to start their regular work hours up to an hour earlier or later, or work from home with the approval of their immediate supervisor. We have also introduced "casual Fridays" to allow for more flexibility in clothing for staff except those who have to wear uniforms. In addition, we regularly hold a variety of staff activities, such as: cooking competition, fun sports meeting, department birthday party, etc., employees can always enjoy their favorite activities, to show their own style.

In order to build a professional, dedicated and happy team, we have developed a more personalized development plan for our employees to help them master the latest knowledge and skills and stimulate their unlimited potential. According to the professional needs of different positions, we provide training funding for employees to enroll in external courses or apply for professional qualifications to improve their performance and support their career development and self-value. In 2021, we conducted our first employee Satisfaction survey to better understand the needs and aspirations of our employees.
We organize various activities every year to encourage employees to communicate. The strength of Hang Lung comes from the cohesion of our team, the establishment of a good and close relationship between colleagues. Hang Lung attaches great importance to the participation and performance of the team, so that excellent employees are recognized. We set up an award-winning project -- "Emerald Customer Service Award", to ensure that employees' efforts are recognized. The Turquoise Customer Service Award recognizes employees who "Go the extra mile" and work in a valued environment. Established in 2012, the Hang Lung As One Volunteer Team focuses on supporting the growth of young people, serving the elderly, and promoting environmental protection. Our dedicated team has so far organized nearly 50 events, clocking up over 5,000 hours of voluntary service.
