In today's growing market, there are many ways to attract employees and make them feel optimistic about their involvement, including rigorous recruitment processes, higher salaries, extra holidays, and career growth opportunities. We, Prudential (Cambodia) Life Assurance PLC (Prudential Cambodia), began operations in January 2013, a part of 172-year-old Prudential founded in the UK in 1848. In 1994, Prudential Corporation Asia, known as PCA, was established in Hong Kong as Asia Regional Head Quarter, expanding business across Asia and Africa. "We help people get the most out of life" is our purpose statement, a simple yet meaningful expression of the reason why we exist as a business by making healthcare affordable and accessible, protecting and growing customers' wealth and assets, and helping them save for their goals.
When it comes to two-way communication and access to information, we share it with employees ranging from the company's financial progress and results to update openly during our monthly mini townhall, between senior management & employees. Through TellMe app, an internal app for Prudential’s Employees to request and give feedback, we regularly encourage employees to practice an open culture of providing feedback regarding their performance, growth prospects, accomplishments, and needed areas for improvement as an essential step to own their development and drive performance.
During the Covid-19 pandemic, Prudential Cambodia provides support and assistance to everyone in need to ensure employees’ utmost safety such as providing regular rapid test kits, financial aid coverage supported by National Social Security Fund and health care supplies to positive employees being cured and quarantined.
Workplace policies and practices
Prudential has always been an employer of choice with our expanded growing markets, supported working cultures, and clear statement of purpose that we believe all actions ultimately contribute to the success of all lives that matter. As state support is limited, income protection to economically vulnerable families through life and health insurance is needed more than ever. We anticipate investing throughout the pandemic in the national economy by providing funding to local banks and microfinance institutions, enabling them to give oxygen to crisis-hit families and small businesses. When it comes to two-way communication and access to information, we share it with employees ranging from the company's financial progress and results to update openly during our monthly mini townhall, between senior management & employees. Employee Engagement
At Prudential Cambodia, we count every minor step and voice to support employee engagement with the company and ensure a high standard of the work environment. From work-life balance, streamlining processes and systems give you more opportunities to develop, engage with colleagues, and advance. From 2020, we have begun a journey to listen to each other and act on areas that matter most to us as one family through Employee Engagement Survey. In our latest global employee engagement survey in January 2021, generating a response rate of 91%, showing not only that each of us has a voice, but that we continue to listen and learn from each other to make Prudential a better place to work. Additionally, we quarterly conduct Our Voice Survey, a quarterly employee survey, so everyone in the company can voice out their concerns and needs; hence, we can listen to them and provide support timely.
Together with Prudential Global, we hosted another 72-hour global crowd-sourced conversation via a digital platform within – the Prudential Collaboration Jam, with more than 8,800 colleagues across Asia, Africa, and the UK, exploring Prudential’s future-ready skills within almost 73,000 conversations over 1200 topics.
