A World Leader Organization

IDP Education is a world leader in international student placement services with a global network of over 100 offices in 32 countries. IDP Education Limited is an ASX-listed company that is part-owned by Education Australia (38 Australian universities) and, since 1969, has placed more than 500,000 students into quality institutions in Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, the UK, and the USA.

IDP Education is a proud co-owner of IELTS (International English Language Testing System) which is recognised by over 11,000 organisations worldwide, and more than 3 million tests are taken globally each year.

IDP Education (Cambodia) operates English language schools in Cambodia, is the IELTS Cambodia Official Test Centre, and provides IDP Study Abroad student placement services to Cambodian and international students.

Australian Centre for Education (ACE)

An initiative of IDP Education (Cambodia), the Australian Centre for Education has been providing world-class English language training in Cambodia since 1992. The school has six campuses, five in Phnom Penh and one in Siem Reap, and 25k students in a regular term. ACE offers a wide range of products through its English language programs including General English, IELTS Preparation, academic/professional ACE Diploma courses, and Customized Training & Testing for organizations including government ministries, embassies and NGOs.

Over the past 29 years, ACE has consistently maintained its international standards (twice finalist in the Language Educator of the Year category at the international PIEoneer Awards in London 2018, 2021) and continues to ensure that highly qualified teachers are in the classrooms and that world-class resources and technology are available to students, teachers, support staff and all stakeholders. ACE is an award-winning, regional leader in CSR provision and ACE’s combined social media channels attract over 330k followers.

As well as teaching English, ACE and IDP Education (Cambodia) organise one of SEA’s (Southeast Asia) largest annual conferences for English Language Teaching (ELT) professionals, CamTESOL. Now in its 17th year, the CamTESOL conference series attracts 2,500 participants every year from approximately 40 countries. 600 papers and workshops are delivered making this a vibrant, cost-effective opportunity for teachers at all stages of their careers to gain valuable professional development and to network with like-minded teachers and researchers.

ACE and IDP also organize the Global Alumni Convention (GAC) series which, since 2015, has been hosted annually, attracts over 2,000 delegates, and is one of the most prestigious arenas for international education opportunities and business networking in SEA. Study Abroad expos and education fairs are another regular feature of the IDP events calendar, bringing representatives from tertiary institutions in Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, the UK and US to speak and give world-class advice and guidance to local students.

Engaging with ACE Core Values

ACE is fully compliant and often far exceeds all local and international standards relating to the health, safety, legal and fiscal wellbeing of all its employees.

The nature of our business, working with often prestigious overseas clients as well as local government ministries, embassies, NGOs and private organizations, means we must comply with rigorous protocols and cross-border requirements relating to staff care and service provision.

ACE employees are fully engaged with our core values and speak highly of the organization to those around them, and of the aspirations working or studying at ACE represent. Our brand has been synonymous with quality education since we started in 1992, and is a household name in Cambodia, something which staff are proud to be a part of.

ACE delivers some of the region’s highest salaries for expatriate teaching professionals and local staff compared to many of our competitors. Our employee and client facilities are state-of-the-art, incorporating the latest technologies and connectivity across all our premises, including at the new ACE Chak Angre campus which opened in 2020.

Celebrating Diversity

18 nationalities are represented at ACE campuses and IDP offices in Phnom Penh and Siem Reap, liaising with IDP colleagues worldwide. To ensure and maintain gender parity, we carry out internal pay and position audits every two years to guarantee parity between female and male staff, and their roles at different levels of the organization; our IDP Elevate program helps upskill and promote women to senior positions, while half of our staff and more than half of ACE students are now female. For our disabled employees, ACE premises are equipped with accessible entrances, automatic doorways, disabled toilets and kitchens, and ramps or lifts to ensure full access to all amenities.

Employee Well-Being

Our staff are key to our ongoing success and their well-being is our top priority. As well as private health coverage and full social security contributions, we promote staff recognition and certification schemes linked to individual and team KPIs as well as length of service. We provide career growth opportunities across departments and geographical locations, and numerous professional development and sponsorship opportunities for further study, such as our IDP Maher El Bakry Emerging Leaders Program and recognition of annual achievements through the IDP Global Excellence Awards and Staff Service Recognition Awards. Regular PD workshops, seminars, training videos, online courses, staff and departmental meetings are standard.

ACE has been regularly audited by Australia’s NEAS (Quality Assurance in Education & Training) QA provider for the last 16 years, and we encourage an open door policy for employees to approach their line managers and senior staff with any questions or issues they wish to discuss; making appointments or scheduling formal meetings is not necessary. During Covid, special mechanisms have been created for employees to discuss personal issues with dedicated, trained members of the team. Generous holiday allowance, time off for special leave, family-friendly policies, invitations to company functions and events, and assistance with work permits/visas are just some of the policies we have in place to ensure employee well-being and keep staff turnover to a minimum. To further foster company branding, regular barbeques, football tournaments, retreats, social events, and fundraising for staff in a precarious situation are also organized.

Caring for our Community – CSR

To build bridges with the local communities from which many of our employees come, we provide opportunities to volunteer through the ACE Social Committee and participate in fund raising events around Cambodia, such as our annual ACE Fun Run for the Environment, Christmas and New Year fairs, and ad hoc emergency and disaster relief initiatives to combat flooding and natural disasters.
